Location: Pouring at The Gem And Keystone, 10/11/14
Aroma: The aroma is vanilla/bourbon, some wood, and plenty of sweet malts
Appearance: It pours a medium brown color with a small tan head and plenty of lace
Flavor: The taste is much the same, bourbon/vanilla over sweet malts, with a mild bitterness
Palate: The body is lighter than expected, with a good bit of heat, and a soft carbonation
Overall Impression: This is a decent bourbon porter, but it didn't find it to be a great example of the style. I actually found the Session Porter more enjoyable, and at less than half the ABV, it is obviously much more drinkable too.

Aroma: The nose is Belgian yeast, spice, some earthy notes, and a little citrus
Appearance: This is a gold colored beer with a small white head and some light lace
Flavor: The flavor is lead by the spice, with a little sweetness, and a clean light-mid bitter finish
Palate: The body is medium, leaning light, with clean feel, and an average carbonation
Overall Impression: I thought this was a solid example of the style. The spice comes out in the flavor, while the other yeast, malt, and hop flavors all work pretty well in with the yeasty spice.

Aroma: It has a light, clean, and a hoppy aroma of tropical fruit and some grassy notes
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear golden-orange color with a small head and light lacing
Flavor: It tastes lightly sweet and lightly bitter, very clean flavor profile, hop flavor but not very bitter
Palate: Drinks very easy, light bodied, has soft-to-average carbonation, and a clean, light dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a really interesting beer. They did a nice job of getting a good amount of hop flavor into a beer with such a light amount of bitterness. It is a very easy drinking and clean offering as well. Probably my favorite thing from this brewpub.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a dark brown color with faint amber highlights and a medium sized foamy beige head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was thin, tart and dryish with vague citrus and a bit of booze. The flavor was tart, boozy and fairly thin with a bit of malt, pretzel, sugar, toffee and mixed fruits. Medium length finish. Light to medium body. Disappointing.

Pretty good with crisp roast flavor. Almost tastes like a dry porter, if such a category existed. Pours black with good head and lacing. Light bitter finish. Tap at the Industry.

Good for style. Comes together with good hay. Some sourness, light astringency and nice farmhouse sense here. Fizzy carbonation. Pours orange with good head and lacing. Tap at The Industry.
