Il y a des appellations IPA dont on se passerait bien. Mais Heineken, dont fait partie la Grande brasserie Calédonienne, n'a que faire de ce genre de considération tant que cela fait vendre. En verre, nous sommes sur du classique avec un blond doré surmonté d'une mousse blanche de 5 mm d'épaisseur. Le nez est avant tout malté sur la pêche et les céréales. A peine à ton une pointe herbacée provenant d'une légère amertume. En bouche, on retrouve également cette présence maltée prépondérante, l'amertume, très modérée apportant difficilement une petite fraîcheur. L'alcool, à 5 % est tout de même correct, tout comme longueur et corpulence. Nous sommes loin d'une IPA, un peu comme la Nouvelle Calédonie l'est de la métropole.

Cette Havannah ambrée est bien plate...Nous ne sommes d'ailleurs pas loin d'une pils, avec une touche de malt cara. Et si l'alcool à 5,8% est honnête, le sucre est quant à lui trop présent. La corpulence est tout de même honnête mais ne compense pas une longueur bien courte. Bref, compliqué de se passionner pour cette Havannah qui n'est pas un cyclone en bouche. Le visuel est tout de même sympathique avec un ambré parfaitement limpide surmonté par une légère couche de mousse.

Can sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks troubles. Clear golden. Graininess, corn, sweetish, bitterish finish, light-bodied. Non-offensive.

From old tasting notes. Pale yellow gold color with a large foamy white head capping lots of small bubbles. Big malty aroma has lots of hop notes. Malty flavor upfront transitions to hop bitterness in finish. Tart and hoppy leading to a bitter aftertaste.

330ml bottle into shaker. Courtesy of bitterlady. Probably should just be called ’Number One Extra’ on Ratebeer but I digress. Green bottle and I’m greeted by rubber tyre and sewer notes, calms down in the glass to just tin and a hint of vegetables. Golden beer with thin white head. Light fine carbonation. Full bodied, light fruit taste. Bit of zing. Finish has moments of malt and decaying fruit. Quite odd but drinkable.

330ml bottle into shaker, courtesy of Bitterlady. Green bottle, euro-skunk nose! Rubber tyre and cardboard, soon dissipates to faint grainy malt. Clear pale yellow beer with thin film on top, light carbonation. Surprisingly fizzy on the tongue with some grain, hops, and cardboard malt. Finish turns sour and acidic late on. Average euro style lager but a lot sweeter.

Bottle sample received in a trade with Nisse666 - Skål Thomas! Country #149. Pours pale gold with a small bubbly head. Aroma of honey, cereal and caramel. Fairly heavy sweetness, light bitterness. Light body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Finish is sweet leaving a syrupy mouthfeel. Quite drinkable, especially considering it’s journey to uk.

Many thanks for this beer to Erzengel. Pours a clear golden colour, white foam head and nose of wet cardboard, corn. Flavour is corn grain, sweetish, cardboard, hay, grassy.
