Pour is a dark brown with a large tan head. Aroma is a really nice oak and bourbon with some sweet molasses in there. Flavor is a nice almost leather tannin with more of the oak and bourbon. Finish is very earthy and a rich molasses. There are some crappy ratings for this beer but I thought it was extremely flavorful with oak and bourbon and it hides the alcohol well. I donβt smoke cigars much anymore but this would be the perfect cigar beer.

Aluminum bottle. Lactic caramel malt and hay aroma. Dark amber with small head. Sweet milky caramel malt and lightly bitter herbal hay flavor. Medium body. Better than the average amber ale.

From a bottle, poured into tulip glass. Dark reddish brown with scant head, fine carbonation. Medium bodied beer with caramel brandy-edged flavor and a nasty, lingering finish. This tasted ok with the first few sips, but by the end of the glass your palate was telling you not to drink this one again.

Winter Beer Fest, Philly: I am sure that this beer was made with all the best intentions, but it just doesnβt come together. Pours dark amber with a white head. Aroma is light citrus and pale malts. The wood aging didnβt really do anything positive for this beer. Lightly sweet. It kind of just tastes like an old and not very good DIPA with half the flavor.
