Cloudy, pale. Lots of coriander and it smells quite sweet. Thick head. Balanced sweet/fruity wit with a lot of coriander and a big bright orangey character.

Can. Pale gold with a large white head. Grainy aroma with apples, some pepper. Thin, fizzy. Normally that much apple in the aroma of a golen lager means get ready for the cardboard, but not here. Still pretty bland with pre-ground pepper at the end and mushy apples throughout.

180ml bottle. Clear pale yellow colour, no head and aroma of rice, alcohol, melon. Taste is sweetish, rice, grassy, some booze and caramel notes. Oily mouthfeel, medium bodied, low carbonation, dry warming finish. Quite drinkable.

Can. A- Cereal, grains, subtle lemon, slightly hoppy. A- Yellow color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Subtle bitterness, cereal, straw, subtle citrus. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, off tasting finish. O- The can matched this one exactly but also said pale ale on it. They must be confused and this beer definitely tastes confusing. It’s not good. I feel bad for Kyoto.

33cl bottle (labeled "Flavor of Sake Brewery") from Pothouse, Tallinn. Pours hazy golden with a small, white head. A bit unusual - fairly fruity and grainy with some yeasty notes, hints of ripe apples and mild spices. Moderate sweet with a bit unfamiliar flavours, a light acidity and mild bitterness. Fairly drinkable and somewhat refreshing, but hardly a favourite. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Kyoto Bakushu Gold Ale on 30 Mar 2016 at 22:34 - Score: 5
