Bottle. Amber-orange color. Aroma of beans, Japanese “kinako” powdered bean dessert. Sweetish, chocolate nd kinako flavor, with a drying finish and vaguely sake-like yeast. Interesting , original, and drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub. Fruity, with rather rich malt and a decent hop bitterness. Finish is dry, body and flavor rather light. Easy-drinking and enjoyable but not really exciting.

On tap at the brewpub. Pale yellow color. Thin, light flavor of sake yeast, with a light fruitiness, mostly green apples. Dry finish from sake yeast. Light and slightly fruity, a bit of interest from the sake yeast, but not much to offer.

Tap at the brewpub. Light amber color. Slight caramel aroma and flavor. Very light, with an overall dryness that comes not so much from hops as from a ack of sweetness. Decently made but uninteresting.

Very pale straw with a rocky, white head. Grass, light floral, malt, and what I assume is rice. Sweet malts, light citrus, floral, with some spices trying to prove themselves, but not strong enough to do much of anything. Boring but refreshing. Very much in the Kizakura flavor profile.

Hazy golden with a short lived white head. Wheat, bright fruits, light malts, yuzu, and spices. Full, smooth body. Coriander, wheat, light malts, and a refreshing fruit quality. Nothing amazing, but easy to drink and refreshing. Has a slightly sour finish.

Weak gold with a bright white head. Intensely floral aroma, yeast, I do pick up some sake similar notes, also. Sweet malts and fruit finish the aroma. Very interesting, unlike any pale lager I’ve had. Thin body. Sweet, lightly sour, spicy, and malts. Any hops are overpowered by the malt and yeast profile. A very interesting brew. Unfortunately it is on par with other Kizakura brews- well made, but not something I’d go out of my way to find.

Amber with a tan head. Sweet aroma. Fruit, caramel malts, herbal, Very sweet flavor. The malts completely mask any sort of hops. A touch of toasted malt and some yeast that makes me think sake. It’s not a bad beer at all, but very pedestrian.

Glowing deep ruby with a light beige head. Malty aroma with light fruit, herbs, grass, and sweet malt. Grassy, sugary malts, a little lemon, and light fruits. Medium bodied. Boring, but not a bad brew. Reminds me of one of my early, less than stellar, homebrews...

Clear golden color with a mid size white head. Aroma is strong of sweet grains and some light herbs. Very sweet flavor. Grainy, light hops, and some earth herbs. Pretty thin. Finish reminds me of corn flakes. Not bad, but not worth a second go.
