Tap at GJBF Osaka 2016. Bright pastel yellow like a wit. Nice nose, tart, cloves, lemon, light banana. Nice tartness, lemony, banana, clove. Light and crisp. Summery and decent but not great.

On tap at GJBF 2016 after I’d missed my chance at Molto’s 4th Anniversary. A cloudy straw gold with a bready cloves and light bubblegum aroma. Light bodied with a really dry sharp carbonation. The taste is cloves and crackery light malts. Alright but not that smooth. 3.2-3.3

At Craft Beer Live, Osaka. Medium brown, fudgey and light, so nothing special. Bland. Light.

Märzen Nagisa 5.5% IBU 24 A clear gold with a filmy white head makes me wonder what style they were going for. Malty biscuit and fruit notes aroma. The taste is nice crisp and clean biscuit with stone fruit overtones. I was expecting something a bit darker colored but this was very easy to drink and enjoyable.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a deep brown to black with a half a finger of beige foam. Roasted malt aroma with some light chocolate notes. Fairly well-balanced, body is thin and watery though. Almost flat cola like mouthfeel. Has a bit of dryness at first but as it warms some weird plastic notes come out. Decent enough though. --- Beer merged from original tick of Eyepatch Stout on 16 Feb 2016 at 21:34 - Score: 5. Original review text: Very basic stout....got a little weird when it warmed up though

Tap at CBM Awajicho. Clear, deep golden-orange color with a fine head. Great malty nose, biscuits, crackers, grassy noble hop, perfect for the style. Lovely bready malt, crackers, spicy hop finish. Crisp, with good bitterness. Very solid. No caramel. Just right for one of the southern, pale colored Marzens.

Bottle from Yamaoka. Very soft, biscuity malt nose. Like morning biscuits. Impressive. Just a touch of grassy, lemony hop. Clear, pale golden with a low, thick head. Soft malt flavor, slightly more lemony, grainy, bready. Crisp, light body, yet quite silky. Nice bitterness in the finish. Good start, though I get just a touch of DMS as well.

Nagisa’s Heaven Helles 5% Served in a Lager glass, it pours a very light straw gold with a fluffy head of white foam which dissipates to leave some soapy lacing behind. Bready sweet pilsner malts with a light floral hoppiness. Medium bodied with a grainy, bready maltiness and herbacious noble hop character. It’s a crisp and clean helles.

Bottle from Yamaoka, 420yen, served in a pint glass with sweet & sour pork. An opaque honeyed amber pour with a thin head. It’s got a nice bready malt sweetness in the nose. The taste has a bit of a fruity tang on a somewhat thin body. It also has some caramel, ash, maybe even a smidge of diacetyl... not one of their better efforts but while it isn’t spot on it isn’t that far off either - needs work.

Bottle from Yamaoka, a kind of flat gold color with a thin foamy head. A wheaty lightly fruity aroma. The taste is alright, wheat, a bit tangy fruit, some minor diacetyl though at this point the beer is quite warm. Overall, it is ok american wheat beers aren’t really my thing but this is acceptable though with a bit of effort it could be much better.
