Slightly hazy golden/amber coloured body with a nice tan head. Aroma of sour wheat, grapes and more sour vinegar. Light-bodied; Great potent flavour of sour grapes, citrus, hops and wheat. Aftertaste shows perfect geuze flavours, simply delicious! Overall, an amazingly well-rounded geuze - perfect. Yet another great belgian beer! I sampled this 375 mL split bottle from Chez Moeder Lambic in Bruxelles, Belgium on 28-December-2007.

Huge thanks to beastiefan2k for sharing this - cloudy dark pink/purple beer - salty, briny aroma, with undercurrents of cherry skins, like smokiness, acidic notes, and blue cheese funk - very sour and acidic up front (like a Cantillon sourness, but with more balance and drinkability) - strong tannic character - tangy - acidity subsides, as the beer gets briny and salty, and intense, aged cheese funk grabs a hold of the tongue - so very tasty.

750mL bottle from miketd, wow and thank you. Its a very dark Kriek with dark pink and purple hues and a nice strong head. No clarity whatsoever. The special thing about this Kriek is its very earthy and pity. Seems like the pits take a lot here. Makes it nicely nutty and musky. The sourness is there obviously and the acidity is pretty subdued for an authentic kriek. 8/4/8/4/17

Aroma is very tart dark cherries with very acidic tartness on the nose. Taste is extremely dry and a lot of the cherry taste has faded. Acidity and lemon is rampant. Some tart cherry can be picked up in the aftertaste. 9/4/8/3/16.

Hazy red with small short lasting head. Sour aroma with narual cherries and barnyardy notes. Sour fruity flavor with typical brett notes, cherries and loads of tart character. Very nice and refreshing.

[i] Bottle from Hop Duvel, Gent, Belgium, had this 28-12-07 [/i] Poured looking a deep raspberry colour ony a tiny rim of bubbles for a head. Wonderful slightly aged sourness on the nose, and very much cherry. The cherry bite is there on first sip but it’s certainly not harsh, in fact its a softer acidic bite than I expected, but the sour cherry flavours are really stunning, a wonderful beer.

RB# 2500: From tap, warm, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours deep red with a little shortlasting pink head. Cinnamon, cardemomme and cloves spices in the aroma, mild cherry note. Flavour is spiced of the same spices as in the aroma, tart cherry flavour, citric to acid which made me shiver. Lingering berry finish with a light acidity. Lovely - most memorable beer from the 2007 Kerstbeerfestival along with the Duvel Tripel Hop.

Kerstbierfestival 2007 Mein 3. Glühkriek. Zimtgeruch. Im Vergleich zu den anderen Glühkrieks ist dieses nicht so stark gesüßt, so dass noch der saure Grundton durchdringt. Im Mittelteil kommen zuerst Kräuter stärker zum Tragen, danach wird das Bier aber spürbar künstlicher und wirkt so übertrieben. Trockener Abgang. Muchos gracios puzzl, who brought this all the way back from Belgium. Dated 10/2000 The bottle pours a clear orange. It looks still but there are a few little bubbles sitting on the floor of the glass and there is a thin lacing but it quickly fades. The beer has a dusty barnyard feel with fruit-vinegar, and a smooth sourness. The sourness is very herbal and grassy, very original and seems signature to De Cam. I thought the body was actually pretty viscous, especially for a lambic. The reduced carbonation made it seem mouth coating. Leaves behind a short acidity for the aftertaste.

375ml bottle from Hopduvel, Gent. Slightly cloudy gold colour with a big white head. Aroma of yeast, farmyard, unripe apples and herbs. Flavour had plenty of citrus and apple fruit, with some musty yeast. The finish was very tart, yet refreshing. Excellent.

37.5 cL bottle. Pours muddy red with a diminished pink head. Mild fruity, sharp sulphoris and slight woody aroma. Starts sour citric before a soft fruity cherry flavour appears with a slight sweetness and takes the flavour back into an acidic then citric phase. Ends citric with a mild acidity, no fruity flavours left.
