Sample at GABF 10/04/2014, thanks to my BIL for assistance with note-taking. Dark amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of vine fruit, malt and caramel. Medium to full body with flavors of vinous oak, caramel malt and earthy hops. The finish is oaky and fruity up front with a caramel malt aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

Enjoyed at gabf 2014. It pours with a nice looking copper body that supports a tall dark tan head. The aroma offers up lots of floral hop notes followed by a modest level of malt sweetness. The taste delivers a pretty tasty mix of sweet malts and hoppiness that seem sort of resiny and bitter floral hops as well as a bit of pine hops going on too. I can’t help but think it comes across a tad soapy here and there or maybe that’s just my imagination.
