Bottle, shared @ Foeders with Markoijelena & Maakun, thanks Marko! Hazy brown color. Off white head. Aroma’s from the glass: sweet (red) fruit, caramel/toffee. Retronasal it’s quite different: smoky, sweetish, herbal, bitterish. Flavor is smoky, light sourish. Light bodied. A bit strange.

Bottle shared thanks to Markoijelena. Slight hazy dark amber with small beige head. Cloves, light smoke, dried plums, caramel, red berries, light bandaids. Strange for an alt because of the smoke (which is not really my thing). Light sweet and under medium bitter. Over light bodied.

Bottle shared thanks to Markoijelena. Hazy orange brown with a small bubbly off white head. Aroma of citrus, very green hops, herbal, light grassy and fruity notes. Flavour is above light sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

On tap at Gunners in Belgrade-Serbia. Black pour, foam is just a lacing quite ivorish. It reminds me an American IRS, although it lacks bitterness of an American one...same feel of a clean black beer, easy although the abv and the load of roasted malts used. I would have appreciated a bit more of those raw notes and some grassiness but this is my opinion and won’t influence my rating. Anyway, some moderate grassiness pops up as the liquid in your glass warms up along with the roast. Licorice a bit, silky notes of dark fruit, cherries, chestnut honey

Serbian BIPA (as few as five years ago, I could never having imagined using these two words combined) shared by markoijelena at RBBWG. Bubbly, pale greyish beige, moussy head, very dark chocolate brown colour, hazy, near to black. Aroma of caramel candy and toffee, wet leather, stewed bayleaf, soggy brown bread, black cherries, old brownies, pine resin, dried grapefruit peel. Clean fruitiness in the onset, dried raisin and fig, black olive-like umami edge, smooth and resinous mouthfeel; sourishness of roasted barley evident from the beginning and lasting till the end, underneath a rounded nutty malt bittersweetishness with a bitter chocolatey ’black’ touch but no coffee roastedness, spicy hop finish, grapefruity and piney, mildly but adequately bittering. Bit malt-forward perhaps for a BIPA, but otherwise very decent and highly enjoyable - but then I am a sucker for this style anyway.

Thank you markoijelena! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBWG VI (2017). BBF 12-09-2017. Black, creamy tanned head. Nose is chocolate, mocha, toffee, sweet, faint mocha ice cream. Taste is basic one note flat herbal chocolate, thin herbal, soy sauce, grains, roast. Basic thin grainy roasted body, mocha. Decent but not a top example of the style for sure.
