On Tap at the brew pub. Cloudy deep redish brown. Creamy dense light brown head and fine persistant lacing. Dark malty aroma with notes of caramel and old barrels. Flavor is a strong balance of dark sweet malts and lots of bittering hops. Very thick palatte and soft carbonation. Nice big beer.

Draft: Pours a rich mahoghany color with ruby tones. Small off-white head and light lacing. The nose is citrus and malt, the taste moves into a more roasted malt with dark fruits, citrus, and caramel. Very smooth, no alcohol feel at all. Just a smooth, warming affect. Very pleasant and drinkable barleywine.

Draft at Tablerock: Dark brown, near black pour with two fingers of tan head and nice thick lacing. Aroma is a blend of roasted malt and coffee. Taste is more roasted malt and coffee, I think chocolate is present, but barely. A bit thin for a porter and watery comes to mind. Below par for a porter.
