Established in 1995, Stewart’s Brewing Company is New Castle County’s first brewpub; a 150 seat full service restaurant with a 30 seat full service bar. Newly renovated to celebrate our 20th anniversary, Stewart’s blends the classic American pub with our brewery and flare for exotic food. We feature a wide array of classic gastro-pub fare, wild game and continental cuisine. Full menu is available from 11am until closing every day. Families are welcome. Our medal award winning brewery is second to none in the First State. Beer starts with six full time ales and adds over 40 rotating seasonal brews to keep things interesting all year. We brew American, German, English, and Belgian style ales and lagers. Stewart’s atmosphere is casual with plenty of televisions to watch the big game. English style darts and NTN trivia to test your wits. It is our goal to provide the best hand crafted beer, fresh food, and impeccable service.

Sampler at brewery. I was very surprised at the start beer. A very clean moderate bitterness with citrus and tropical fruit. Like the good hoppy beers before NE IPA was a thing. Malt is present without sweetness or tea, just adds heft to the beer. Finishes great with clean and lightly bitter hops. Something a little weird comes out as it warms up but I finished my beer by then. 83846

Sampler at brewery. Recentpbut-not-school IPA, like much of this brewery. I like the hop the mix, lightly herbal, green, and citrus. It is a clean malt and bright hop character. Citrus arises as the most common hoppiness. These seems rare nowadays. 737315

Nitro at brewery. Standard brewpub nitro stout but this one is caught between a dry stout and a regular one. Flabby light body of a drybstout but alcohol heft of a regular stout. Rather empty flavor and easy to put down.

Glowing ruby copper. Decent head retention. Moderately astringent cherry barley wine, it’s one of those. Flavor has done malt rough texture and still that astringency with cherry. A little soft thick malt st the back end. It’s within my tolerable kevelnof astringency but not worth a repeat.

Dark brown, almost black. A little too clean. Some grainy Belgian malt, but well restrained esters. Some of the dark malts help. For a brewpub, decent.

It’s bad. Clear dark straw with no lacing. I don’t know what but it’s off. Let’s go with artificial poop. I mean it’s not right.

Draft and cask side by side. Cask definitely has a bit of butter but fine for style. However, draft has none. Draft is clean sparking lightly earthy and brown bread. Softer carbonation on the cask and feels more British.

I’m sure I am drinking a whole different beer now than 8 years ago. Also, hops and IPAs have changed a lot in the intervening years. Hazy dim orange. Moderate bitter aroma, some citrus peel and then a big hit of sticky weed. Flavor is similar moderate bitterness, fresh hops, again citrus peel and light pine not weed. Sprinkling carbonation dispenses the flavor and bitterness.

Hard to get a good sniff with all the other good smells going on in this place! 12 oz tap @ brewpub. Light malts throughout the senses....dark chocolate, cant decipher the fruit, its just dark & delicious. Good beer, I had 2 😊
