Draft at the brewpub. An unclear light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma has strong notes of lemon with light notes of wheat in the back ground. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of lemon and medium notes of wheat, leading to a dry finish with notes of both lemon and wheat.

Muddy brown color. Light roasted malt aroma. Medium body structure, caramel and dusty chocolate flavor; very yeasty. Either the bottom of the tank, or a very unprofessional brew.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted and light spiced. Sweet, spiced and roasted malty flavoured. Light phenolic and roasted malty into the finish. Lasting roasted and spiced impression. --- Beer aliased from original tick of La Bière de Noël on 19 Dec 2009 at 08:49 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7. Original review text: From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy to murky dark brown with a small tan head. Again looking darker than Geneva and a lot different than Lausanne. Roasted malty aroma, light spiced. Mild spiced with annis seed and distinct yeasty flavoured. Slight phenolic and sweet caramelish into the finish. Lasting phenolic and dark roasted malty into the far finish.

Amber color. Aroma of cherries and marzipan. Like the Ambrée, it has a rounder and sweeter body than the Blanche and Blonde, it doesn’t have the yeast flaw of the Ambrée, it has a sweetish caramel flavor, and like the others the hop infusion was probably too long and the bitterness in the final is a bit disturbing.
Earlier Rating: 11/10/2002 Total Score: 3.2
Cloudy red amber color, nice creamy head. Strong fruity, cherry flavor. Sweet, a lot of cherry syrup; maybe artificial, but enjoyable, easy to drink. After the syrupy taste, the final presents some hop bitterness. Not too bad (and if compared with their Blanche à la Pêche...).

Copper color. Almost no aroma. This one at least has some more body than the Blanche and Blonde, some caramel flavor; but almost immediately there is the typical yeast flavor of home-brews; the bitterness, like in the Blonde, is just a bit too much. Confused.
Earlier Rating: 3/5/2008 Total Score: 2.3

Hazy amber color. It has a light aroma of caramel, sugar and fruits. Medium body structure with some caramel aroma; here again there is too much bitterness (I mean, yesterday I had a good American Barley Wine, I like my hops, but here they are out of place); overall, a mediocre (or poor) homebrew.
Earlier Rating: 8/15/2002 Total Score: 2

Copper-amber color. Light malt aroma and caramel; poor taste, too much like a watery homebrewed Amber Ale, some yeast; not enough hops.
2002-08-15, 4-2-5-3-10=24
Simple amber, with some pleasant hop (just a few).
2002-01-26, 4-4-7-4-15=34
Amber beer. Very light aroma. Good body, rather sweet, malty, then balanced by bitterness; without character.
Earlier Rating: 8/11/2002 Total Score: 3.6
Hazy amber ale, with a orange light. Very nice malt aroma, pretty strong. Pleasant malt taste, with a nice hidden hop, and some caramalt, but too light body.

Blond color. Light malt and hop aroma. The mouthfeel is dry and weak, light cereals flavor, light sweetness (sweetener-like), strong bitterness; possibly too long hop infusion. Simple.

Cloudy light blond color. It has a lemony aroma, with some hops. Horrible taste, completely immature, unbalanced, with total lack of body and too high, tannic bitterness (too long hop infusion or usage of hop extracts?). Undrinkable.

Cloudy blond color. Light hoppy aroma; unfortunately not maintained in the taste, with poor malt, light spices, not mature and even a bit sour.
2002-08-15, 4-2-2-2-9=19
Watery, some bitterness, wrong hopping (maybe too long infusion).
2002-01-26, 6-3-5-3-12=29
Blond ale, too much cloudy. Light hop aroma. Quite good taste, but it's a bit aggressive, metallic, young. Palate enough persistent, not really refined.
Earlier Rating: 8/11/2002 Total Score: 3.3
Cloudy blond colour. Pretty nice hop aroma, a bit fruity. not bad, light malt and robust hopping, but aggressive; not yet mature, as too often happens in the breweries of this chain.

Cloudy light yellow color. Reasonable spicy aroma, but the taste (and palate) is too watery, poor.
2002-08-15, 4-2-4-2-9=21
Very simple, no character, watery. This brewery is getting worse and worse.
2002-01-26, 7-3-7-4-14=35
Wheat beer. Nice aroma, citrusy. Ordinary body, typical wheat beer flavours, with a nice hop taste and palate not too bad.
Better to try their beers in wintertime, probably the maturation is longer.
Earlier Rating: 8/11/2002 Total Score: 3.1
Very light pale colour, nice head and lace. Nice hop aroma, hay. Dry taste, too much watery, but with some pleasant malt and hop character, hidden; just a little spicy and lemony in the final. Ordinary, light palate.
