Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a dark red to brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a good pace. Light stringy lace.
The aroma had some good caramel/toffee notes, toast, dried apples, and some sweet and spicy rye follow into some earthy, woody and leather-like qualities.
The flavor blended the spicy to the sweet fully and lead into the aftertaste and finish pretty nice.
The palate was just a tad under medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Sturdy carbonation and the ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty nice rye beer enthusiastically bringing everything together nicely.
