On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with small white head that lasts. The aroma is earth, ginger, floral. Medium body, lemon zest, ginger, tea, floral, light dry finish, good.

Rated as a Belgian Pale ale, this was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a hazy golden yellow color with a sustaining one finger white foamy head. It must have lasted a good two minutes before dissipating and leaving a subtle sticky lacing around the glass.
The smell started off with the ginger pretty strong and gently leading to the lemongrass, sweet and fresh. Light citrus (mainly orange and lemon) back up the aroma nicely.
The taste was sweet and spicy through the citrus combining through the ginger. It leaves a ginger aftertaste and has no finish.
On the palate, the ginger does take the lead and lets the carbonation come across fairly subtle. It sits about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good beer with a nice feel to Spring time. As a Belgian Pale ale, I didn’t get as much yeast as expected but still good.

At a BBQ: Pours golden with a white head. Aroma is bread and spices. Taste is quite spicy, wit a little bit of sweetness. Lots of lemon in the taste, along with a little hit of ginger. Kind of one dimensional in this regard, but not exactly a horrible beer. I wasn’t hankering to have another one.

Nice, super hazy, chunky golden coloured body with some pungent orange glow and a thick, four centimetre tall soapy tan head. Aroma of yeast, coriander seed, curacao, lemons, wheat and a bit of white pepper. Light-bodied; Nice wheat flavour with a ton of coriander seed freshness, some yeast, a little lemons and a ton of nice herbal spiciness with pepper and some light sage really coming out. Aftertaste is nice - being pungent (spices) and mild (yeast/wheat) at the same time. Overall, a very nice beer that shows great complexity while not overwhelming the palate. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Wegman’s in Malvern, Pennsylvania on 22-September-2012 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 01-November-2012.

Interesting take on what appears to be a Belgian style at the core. The addition of the lemongrass and ginger adjuncts add unique flavoring and appearance( chunks of ginger dancing in the carbonation!). definitely a different brew, and would probably go well with some Asian cuisine...

Copper with a fizzy white head. Aroma is spicy, herbal, vegetal. Medium, carbed body. Flavor is heavy on the lemongrass, vegetal, herbal, spices. This one is interesting to say the least but it’s just not for me.

Bottle. Gusher. Pours cloudy gold. Gushing white head. Nose and taste of cooked vegetables, flowers, ginger, spices and lemon juice. Yeasty sourness in finish. Thin body. Odd beer.

Gunk on bottom. This stuff claims to be a golden ale but from the start I am suspect. A little yeasty on the aroma with candy tones in the background. Pale-ish yellow brown a little on the light side. Hazy. No head and no visible carbonation. Strong and rather syrupy sweet for a golden ale. Has some of that typical yeasty beldgy flavors that I have come to associate with East End. Some CO2 but very little. Not real easy on the lager lovers taste buds. Now I see it has lots of different spices in there, way too much as far as I am concerned. Yep, I guess that beldgy yeast flavor is from all those spices like chamomeel and rubarb and such. This brew is not what anybody would call a golden ale but they must have looked only at the color when they named it. Weird, to say the east but glad to have tasted it.
