Nice slightly hazy copper tinted amber coloured body with a nice (albeit thin) one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pumpkin pie spice, cloves, allspice, cinnamon, malt and a nice bit of caramel - very nice smell. Medium to Light-bodied; Nice light flavour with some malt, spice, caramel and fruitiness at first then fading to a light bitter malt flavour. Aftertaste shows some mild caramel, a tiny bit of spice and a good fruity finish. Overall, a nice beer, albeit lightly spiced compared to the smell. Decent, but not amazing. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia on 02-October-2009 sampled at home in Washington on 29-October-2009.

Bottle from Topsail Island. Very dark reddish brown in color, no head to speak of. Taste has plenty of strawberry, on the bitter side, with slight sourness, but not enough. Not much sweetness, which suits me fine. Interesting.

Marzipan and fig aroma with soy sauce undertones. Dark brown with a medium tan head. Sweet at first but considerably drier at midpalate ending almost tart. Thin mouthfeel. Charred oak, licorice, and peat flavors. Nice creativity and very drinkable. Not a stellar beer, but I enjoyed it quite well.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine Triangle Plaza, Raleigh, NC. Pours an orange tinted amber color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Slightly hazy. Aroma is candy strawberry with a bit of a cheesiness and very faint grass. Taste is lightly bready with very faint toast, strawberry cheesecake, faint grassiness. Thin and slightly watery. This is the start of a good beer, but it’s too thin and not well balanced.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine in Richmond, VA. Pours a clear amber color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is dirty grain. Taste is fairly foul... pale grainy malts and something a bit like salty meat. Faint grassy hops. Thin, watery and highly carbonated. Poor effort.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Total Wine in Richmond poured into a pint glass, 7/6/09
Aroma: Mostly earthy hops, a bit of grapefruit, and some light caramel as well
Appearance: Dark amber-like color, lots of sediment floating in this beer, some minor lacing on the glass, a nice looking beer
Flavor: I taste a nice amount of hops here, some light grapefruit sweetness in the finish
Palate: A nice body on this one, it has a nice flow
Overall Impression: A good brew, wasn't particularly excited by the nose, but the taste was nice, and it was a really nice looking beer with an above average palate.
