Founders Javier Aldea and Sami Claret have quite an out-of-the-ordinary corporate philosophy: they’ve been brewing beer without a brewery of their own – rather, they’ve been travelling the world as beer nomads and produced their creations together with craft-beer buddies elsewhere.
Now their idea has been given a home, so to speak – and the beer nomads have settled down a bit, because since 2018 the Nómada beers are being brewed in the pilot brewhouse of Mahou San Miguel's Alovera facility. This alliance with Mahou San Miguel (with a stake of 40% in Nómada) is intended to help the brand focus more closely on the Spanish beer market.

Keg @ Northern Monk Refrectory, Leeds. Black with next to no head. Strong tasting, but not quite feeling its strength in this respect. Has a sweetened but evident roasted malt aroma and taste that’s fairly crisp tasting.

1/3 pint at the Doghouse in Glasgow. Black beer poured with practically no head. Strong malty aroma. Taste is malt, a hint of coffee, sharp tangy fruit and it’s actually the finish where you feel the ABV. Delicious though.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks Stas. Black with some brown foam. Big aroma with chocolate, sherry, dark fruits, wood. Sweet-tart flavor with chocolate, sherry, dark fruits (cherries), mildly smoky wood. Full-bodied, rounded mouthfeel. Alcohol is very well-concealed. Great stuff, complex.

330 ml bottle poured into a snifter. Black with less than a finger of light tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, roasty notes, a little graham cracker, espresso syrup, very subtle bit of soy sauce. Tastes of dark chocolate, some earthiness and saltiness possibly from the truffle, some roasty notes. Medium body with a dry finish. Pretty good and unique, but maybe a bit too much black truffle.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Aroma: caramel, sweet, porto, pepper, chili. Taste: caramel, prunes, million tons of CHILI PEPPER!!!111 Mega-hot chili sauce, like Nuclear war.

Cloudy black beer with a beige head. Rich smell of chocolate and coffee. It has a flavour to match though there’s a bit of tangy fruit in there and it’s surprisngly light in the mouth given the style and strength. Rich and tasty though, and a combination of the main three flavours linger in the aftertaste. Really very good.

Bottle. A- Iron, cocoa, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, light brown head. T- Cocoa, roasty, iron. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, dry irony finish. O- I hate to say it but I was exceptionally let down with this one. Looked great as I poured it but that iron in it was meh. Maybe it was from the truffle? I love truffle oil and everything this beer was supposed to be, but it just did not hold up.

Hazy golden colour, nice fine head with decent retention. Flowery smell, elderflower, citrus and funk. Bitter and dry taste, herbal bitterness, feint honey.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - lemon coloured with big lumps. A small but well formed head. Nose - definitely saffron with a hint of the olive oil. Taste - saffron, lemon and definitely the rice too. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - very interesting concept beer.
