Description
After years of talking about it as a family, the decision is taken in 2015/16 to make brewing the new family business. The family travel to various brewery manufactures and finally place an order for the system that is now in place in Kilcoole.Equipment starts arriving and the brewery is built and commissioned. Late 2017, test beers are put out at the Irish craft beer festival at the RDS. In 2018 Larkin’s formally launches into the market at the Alltech beer festival in March. Larkin’s is now distributed in pubs across Ireland as well as exporting to other markets in the EU.

Bottle from Martin’s. Nutty brown with a medium head. Aroma is chocolate malt. Flavour is very malty, chocolate powder, nutty, decent beer, not what I would call a Baltic Porter, more like the strong malty east European porters, lacks that bit of roast. Still decent beer though.

Can at home. Pours a bright and hazy orange with a small white head. Peach, apricot, grapefruit all on the nose. Taste is much the same, peach comes through first. Nice soft mouthfeel and a delicious bitter finish
