Description
After years of talking about it as a family, the decision is taken in 2015/16 to make brewing the new family business. The family travel to various brewery manufactures and finally place an order for the system that is now in place in Kilcoole.Equipment starts arriving and the brewery is built and commissioned. Late 2017, test beers are put out at the Irish craft beer festival at the RDS. In 2018 Larkin’s formally launches into the market at the Alltech beer festival in March. Larkin’s is now distributed in pubs across Ireland as well as exporting to other markets in the EU.

Can at home, from Yards & Crafts online, 07/05/22. Rich mahogany brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is toffee fudge, light spice, coffee bean, maple syrup, sugar melt. Taste comprises sweet malts, maple syrup, toasted brown sugars, pinch of spice, light coffee bean, toffee. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Fun pastry affair if a touch 1D on the maple front.

200ml on tap at Tromsø Mikrobryggeri. Spotty lacing from a film-type layer, cloudy warm golden body. Citrus aromas, orange upfront. Lemon and orange to the taste buds, underlying moments of bread and biscuit. Quite nice bitter ending, semi dry. Fine bodied. Likable. (St. Patricks Day Tap Takeover, Tromsø 17.03.2022).
