50cl bottle from Ekonom market, Sheki. Well, another standard pale lager. Grainy and fairly mild aroma with notes of cooked vegetables, gass and metal. Sweet and grainy, but hints of bitterness too. Light and watery. --- Beer merged from original tick of Novxani on 21 Jun 2017 at 19:42 - Score: 3

50cl bottle from Ekonom market, Sheki. Just another standard pale lager. Grainy and fairly grassy aroma with notes of cooked vegetables. Sweet and grainy, but hints of bitterness too. Could be worse. --- Beer merged from original tick of Golden Malt on 21 Jun 2017 at 20:08 - Score: 4

50cl bottle from BazarStore, Baku. Pours pale golden with a fairly modest, bubbely, white head. Not very hoppy ; not too much aroma at all, besides the usual grainy aroma with botes of cooked vegetables. Possible hints of grass too, but the Saaz hops are certainly not prominent. The usual bland pale lager and it seems to be almost more sou than bitter. Really not much to write home about, just nicely camouflaged crappy pale lager. --- Beer merged from original tick of Grand Saaz Hop on 19 Jun 2017 at 22:23 - Score: 4

50cl bottle at Secrets Pub, Baku. Pours close to black with a dense, beige head. Mild roasty aroma with noted of dried fruits, wood and caramel. Medium to moderate sweet with fairly mild and a bit strange roasty flavours. Better than the usual pale lagers here. Fair enough. --- Beer merged from original tick of Starapraga Premium Dark Beer on 19 Jun 2017 at 15:12 - Score: 5

06/06 0.5 l bottle. My first Azerbaijani rating! It poured deep golden body with big head. Weaker hay aroma. Flavor was only slightly better, herbal hoppy with honey and bread malt, slightly grainy. Corn possible, some acidity felt? Medium body with shorter bitterish papery and herbal finish. Might be better than expected, but it’s still just an ordinary macro lager. Worth experience though.

Bottle that heavy got from an acquaintance from Azerbaijan (huge thanks to that guy! and heavy of course :) ). And now I got to enter the brewery and rate the beer first. Go me! This started to gush like mad though, but once that settled, a deep golden body appeared so we called the police. Hur hur hur. The foam was nice and thick, put not as persistent as it seemed at first. All in all, this looked quite lovely, they didn’t lie about the "Zlatý" part. The nose was back to reality, though not a harsh return. Not terribly Czech but passable, dry and malty, papery, with weak honey from time to time. Creamy, slightly herbal-bitterish from the hop (ooh, Saaz?), slightly corny, with an ashy finish. Not bad really.
