Description
The reason Jamie Emmerson and Irene Firmat started Full Sail in the first place was to build a company that was completely different from the ones where we’d previously worked. It wasn’t about business as usual. It was about finding our calling in life — about truly appreciating our “human resources,” and balancing work, life, family and friends in a way that makes life truly worth living.

Determined to make world-class beer in our own backyard, one of our first, and perhaps best, decisions was to invest in new, state-of-the-art brewing equipment. So we bit the bullet, laid down our borrowed cash, and spent the better part of 1987 installing the new system. Our love for the environment is what drives our sustainable practices, so pure water, local ingredients and responsible processes are poured into each and every tasty pint.

A black beer with a chocolate brown head. The sweet with strong notes of alcohol and bourbon, but also raisins and wood mixes in. The flavor is very sweet with notes of overripe fruits and bourbon as well as lesser notes of chocolate and wood. The end is slightly bitter with notes of chocolate. On my tastebuds this beer is closer to a Barley Wine than a Baltic Porter - but it is still a very nice brew.

A dark amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet grassy, while the flavor is very hoppy and grassy - I get the notion that the hops used are very fresh, or is the the soul use of Brewers Gold? The end is nicely bitter - though not very bitter, and not as bitter as I had expected from the style.

Bottle Pours a very dark black with small tan head and lots of fine sheeting lacing. Drk roast and molassas aroma with some slight purple grapes. Very dark roasted slightly charcoal taste with hints of coffee. Moderate and very fine carbonation and a very smooth thick almost oily feel. Bitter citrus peal hoppiness. A strong brew that has a nice feel.

Bottle Pours a deep golden amber with a hefty, dense light tan head. Lots of lasting sticky lacing. Mild fairly sweet malts are on the nose with subtle hops. No real sharp citrus or piney notes. Flavors are a sweet bready malt flavor. Slightlly woody with very little hops again. Very mild bitterness at the end. Feel is very smoth and a littel heavy. Quite soft on the carbonation."quaffable but far from inspiring"

A clear amber beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy, but also with some off-notes like detergent. The flavor is sweet hoppy with notes of prunes and loads of hay, leading to a dry hoppy end.

Bottle Pours a clear light amber. Massive white foamy creamy head. Modest piney sweet hops aroma. Expected a more robust punch in this dept. Flavor has more of that bite i was loking for. Sweet light maltiness and fairly soft carbonation. Lots a sharp bittter aftertaste. Like that white stuff under the grapefruit skin.
