Fairly hazy orange brown with a tan head. Aroma of Brett infection, light smoke and malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Terrible.

Served in a big paper cup at the source. Wow! Aroma of yeast, green weeds, herbs, nettles and honey. Flavour is moderate sweet and above light bitter. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at Leopold's. Slightly hazy golden body, white head. Lightly grainy, flowery aroma... quite okay, one can see where Leo was going with this. The taste is basically similar, grainy, flowery, lightly soapy, watery, drinkable, a solid 3.2-3.3 beer, if not for a smoky, rubbery, lightly phenolic hit that showed up especially at the start, but later dissipated. Well... hope to retry it once Mandrill's technical difficulties are resolved.

On tap at Mandrill's Street Food. Paper cup, 8kn/0.5l. Oh my. Firstly, a disclaimer - this beer is not a reflection of Mandrill's usual quality. The last batch from their old location... due to the restrictions and all - it aged. It's been around for a long while and still isn't gone despite a crazy price, at a popular location. Oh well. What seems to be a dark brown body, with a brownish head. Dried apricots, perfumey, come from the aroma (modern hops were used?), light nutty touches, somewhat spicy aaaand... chlorophenols. Lean, sweetish taste, light roast, some chlorophenols, bitterish finish. Flawed, obviously, so, but eh, some people like it I heard, and I hope they get rid of it soon.

Tap at the Mandrill bar. Darker amber body, off white head. Dry stone fruit aroma, some herbal touches, vaguely funky, maybe showing some age. Bitter taste, some stone fruit aromatics, almost no malt profile, simple and drinkable, fairly tasty!

On tap at Mandrill's Brewpub & Kitchen. Hazy dark golden to amber, small to medium creamy off-white head. Moderately hoppy, quite fresh, citrus, orange peel, zest, stone fruit or even berries, some of it might be from the yeast. Caramel and malty profile clearly present. There's a tropical hint afterwards. Bitterness is moderate, some tartness in the taste. Fruity flavours, also herbal hoppy, slightly grassy. Moderate to high carbonation, some harshness in the finish. Could use a bit smoothing out, although they probably weren't even aiming for a classic NEIPA, but other than that it's a good American IPA and a bold move using the kveik yeast.

Dark orange color, off white head, medium fast diminishing. Not hazy enough for NEIPA. Citrus aroma, and bitterness in taste. Grapefruit feeling. Medium body and carbonation. Nice for first time.

Tap at Mandrill. Golden-amber hazy body, white head. Lovely hoppy peach-like notes, then some phenols kick in. Taste-wise, the same thing. Lovely fruity/peachy hoppy notes, then phenols come up again. Shame, this has potential.
