Bottle. Oxidized, with almost no carbonation. Loads of caramel. Has potential, but unfortunately that is no good in this form.

From bottle @hbf 2016. Poured brown with a thin off white head. Bready, hops, some sweetness. Balanced. Bread, rye, spicey notes. Toasted malty. I like the breadyness here.

(Bottle, 0.75 l, at HBF2016) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Hardly any head. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice and cocoa. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, ash, grass, saltiness, liquorice and bitterness. Afteraste had salty liquorice and bitterness. A pleasant stout that wasn’t too burnt.
