Tap at the Brewpub. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head and lots of long lasting broken lace. The aroma is malt, light citrus hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth light fruit hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice and refreshing but needs more hops I feel. It lacks a spicy finish.

Draught @ Nederlands Speciaalbier Festival Den Bosch 2014. Clear yellow - golden color, full sized thick dense and lightly creamy white to off-white head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste malts, lightly grainy, quite fresh, lightly blossom, nicely bitter. Very nice actually.

Bottle from the Brouwcafe. Bottle number 744, bottled April 2013. Poured a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a big frothy light tan head. The aroma is rich yeast, raisins and boozy alcohol. The flavour is medium sweet, light bitter with a yeast alcoholic bitter palate and a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation and a frothy mouthfeel. Nice to taste in small quantities but somewhat sweet and alcoholic when you are faced with drinking a large bottle on your own!

Tap at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is yeast, light malt hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a big yeast, crisp dry, light vinous, hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not bad at all. Quite unusual really and it eventually grew on me.

On tap @ the brewpub, free, handtapped by the owner so it gets a bonus point. He describes it as an American pale ale. Thin white head. Hazy amber pour. Nice fresh bitterness. A nice session beer.

Tap at the brewpub. Poured a murky dark amber with a thin white head. The aroma is citrus yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with a zesty citrus yeast alcoholic liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Tasted the March 2014 beer and I must say that this is one of the best beers I’ve had from the Brouwcafe. Lots of flavour, nothing dominates and the yeast is toned down in favour of the citrus notes. For anyone else that may have rated last years beer, I urge you to try the 2014 version.

Tap at the Broufcafe. Poured a murky dark brown with a bubbly off white head. The aroma is malt yeast and a touch of acidity. The flavour is medium bitter with a watery malt hop liqourice palate and only the slightest hint of chocolate. Light bodied with average carbonation. For a chocolate porter I expected more chocolate and it’s way too light, it needs more body and.a good frothy head. A few short-lived bubbles just don’t do it for me I’m afraid.
