Bottled. Dark beer with a slightly reddish tinge and reasonable head retention. The aroma is slightly malty and the flavour is dry, slightly roasted and malty. Overall a very dry nice beer.

Clear redbrown color, i would have expected it to be darker like the Kostritzer. Like the color, the aroma and taste are also a bit disappointing. Not full and creamy, but more flat. Quite bitter. I like these brews to be more in the direction of a stout.

Das Bier schmeckt malzig und hopfig, der Nachgeschmack recht hefig. Dabei ist das Bier noch recht mild, ohne aber wässrig zu sein. Eigentlich ein recht gutes Bier, für warme Sommertage recht gut geeignet. Test vom 17.7.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,9,8,8,12,10 - 9,35

Pretty aged bottle; there is a question as to where this is brewed. It used to be Deininger Kronenbräu at Hof - at least until the nineties, the brewing of top-fermenting beer was prohibited in the town of Kulmbach. Good head, receding rapidly; hazy dark brown with orange shine. Sweet bread, cookies, Pumpernickel, banana- and other yeastesters. Sourish - wheaty taste, again dark bread, but much drier than the nose. Every sip ends with the same characteristic sourish wheattaste. Flavour not unlike a lemon-cheesecake. Rather well-bodied, typically wheat fills in, despite its characteristic acidity. In the aftertaste, a bit of nuttiness and pears, are the only signs of aging. Very good sample of the style, better than the other Weizenbeers IMO (Berliner not counting).

Swing-top bottle: amber colour, fluffy off-white head; malty, sweetish nose, traces of roasted malts, also fruity, vinous notes; moderate sweet beginning; sweetish, malty taste ending with a slightly dryer, bitter finish; full bodied, well hidden alcohol,; well rounded, not too sweet, deceptive Bock. Very pleasant !

A yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel and honey, while the flavor is malty with a dry hoppy end and a thin body.

Gut trinken lässt sich das Kapuziner Weißbier Schwarz. Es schmeckt recht durchschnittlich, ein netter malziger Geschmack, ein Kaffeartiger Nachgeschmack. Was es etwas abhebt von einigen Bieren: Es ist nicht so fruchtig wie manch andere. Es lässt sich gut trinken. Test vom 29.6.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,10,8,12,10 - 9,70

(bottle) Clear and pale golden colour with a medium frothy white head. Faint floral hoppy aroma. Soft bittersweet flavour, light to medium body. Slight malty start with a fine but average hopbitter finish. Clean and well-made Pilsner type but still nothing special.
