Description
The first real malting statute was confirmed by the municipal council of Iglau, as the town of Jihlava was called till 1948, in 1579. In 1859, all 123 owners of brewing rights in the town and surrounding villages joined in a new brewery, the present Jihlava Brewery. The brewery in Jihlava was opened in 1861, but the brewery considers the year 1860 as the year of its incorporation. From its incorporation the brewery had mainly German owners. After WWII it was nationalised and then privatised in 1995. In 2008 the almost bankrupt brewery was bought by the Pivovary Lobkowicz group. Under the new owners the brewery returned to the production of beer according to old original recipes.

Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, smaller, quickly diminishing off-white fluffy head; unmalted barley and a tinge of roasted malt in the nose; light sweet-bitter-sourish flavour; some traces of caramel and cacao and dark malt in the faint bitter-sweet finish. Žádná sláva......

Bottled. A golden beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of cardboard, and so is the flavor, though in the flavor the lack of alcohol is very evident.
