Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours hazy orange-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Muted coffee in the nose, ripening citrus, orange rind. Light sweet flavour with some woody dryness, melon, orange, pine needles, bitter coffee. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dry finish with some piney and rindy bitterness, more orange, coffee grounds, pale bread. Enjoyable beer.

Bottle at Beerhouse on Long. It pours clear deep orange - amber with a medium off-white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, sticky, orange marmalade, peach, pine and muffin. The taste is firmly bitter, wood, pine, resin, some alcohol, orange marmalade, caramel, waxy peel and pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Not bad, but I don’t see the reason for the major love of the last few raters. Doesn’t have a load of depth and the alcohol plays too big a part in the beer.

Keg at Beerhouse on Long. It pours lightly hazy pale gold with a medium white head. The aroma is fresh, fragrant, floral, straw, lemon sherbet and cracker. The taste is crisp, bitter, dry, pithy lemon, floral, soda water, grass and lemongrass with a firmly dry finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. Perhaps a touch light, but it makes for a decent session ale.
