Bottle at Kachelofen, Bamberg 4/11/07. Almost black with a slight tan head. Aroma of coffee, black fruit and roasted notes. Flavour was sweet with a decent dry finish. Very enjoyable and easy drinking for its strength.

500ml bottle. Cloudy golden body with a big foamy white head. Aroma is wheat and banana. Flavor is quite sweet, wheat, banana and some hops. Clean and straightforward OK wheat beer. On the sweeter side and lots of carbonation. OK.

Re-rating: Some of the same impression as first rating from 2007 but I would use a bit more nuances in my score today. Classic could be nice and should be appreciate. It’s still a straight forward weissbier, but it’s a good one.

Grainy aroma of barley, wheat, beans, and honey, nicely balanced. Dark golden color, medium foamy white head. Metallic flavor with subdued malts. A little watery. Slightly bitter and tinny finish. Not stong, nothing offputting, easily drinkable. Hopless, but with some character.

Bottle: Pale golden, cloudy, lively carbonation, big loose head, slowly diminishing with a fine lace, vanilla citrus-fruits and bitter yeast in the nose, moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, light bodied, soft MF; shorter fruity (oranges, lemons)-sourish finish. A very refreshing, well made Weizen.........

Bottle, 7.3% Quite malty, brown sugar aroma. Clear, very dark brown colour. Small creamy light brown head. The flavour is quite powerful, quite sweet, creamy with lots of malt. Finishes with a little sour alcohol, which is good here, reminding me of liquorice. Late hint of barley bitterness.

500ml bottle at St Albans BF 2007. Clear gold, lovely and clean, clean crisp, lemon, wow, the finish is so hoppy and clean. This is the best pilsner I?ve even had. I liked it so much I bought another bottle and drank it on the train on the way home.4.3 regularly on tap at Eulenspiegal. apart from a little co2 emptiness on the finish this is still lovely. floral fresh hop aroma. it looks lovely. the aroma I could smell and smell. then clean and more floral bitterness on the finish. just a bit too crisp to be top league. Re rate 3.9bottle from Rewe Bamberg 2026
