Description
Shilling Brewing Co. is the first to bring the brewpub experience to the heart of Glasgow. A place where an appreciation of the art and science of brewing is at the core of what we do and for all to see, taste and enjoy.

Glasgow has been pioneering the perfect pint for over 400 years and the Shilling Brewing Co. is contributing to the next chapter in this story by creating a space where everyone can discover and appreciate beer, straight from the source.

This includes our core range of beers designed to be enjoyed fresh, just meters from where they are brewed, alongside a host of beers sourced from pioneering craft breweries.

On keg at Shilling. Appearance - cloudy yellow. Nice fluffy head. Nose - banana and light sweet spice. Chantilly cream note. The merest hint of toffee. Taste - loads of creamy banana again. A touch of nutmeg and some bread. General pudding notes. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly good finish. Overall - this was pretty authentic I thought.

On keg at Shilling. Appearance - golden amber and hazy. Nice fluffy head. Nose - crunchy biscuit and orange. Loads of earthy resin. Taste - more earthy resin notes and something tropical. Dry pithy finish. Palate - light to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Overall - complex if a bit gnarly. Almost in ESB territory in fact.

Keg at Shilling. Pours clear red-brown with a light haze and a thin off-white head. Aromas are herbal, some liquorice. It’s not a black Ipa as we know it, Jim. Something minty going on. Odd.

Cask at SBC, Glasgow. It pours cloudy golden - orange with a small white head. The aroma is fresh hop, floral, grassy, straw, bread and light spice. The taste is crisp, bitter, grassy, rather floral, spice, straw, wood, slightly grainy, mild tannin vibe and citrus peel with a dry finish. Light - medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Hops come across quite floral to me. Decent enough session stuff.
