Description
Shilling Brewing Co. is the first to bring the brewpub experience to the heart of Glasgow. A place where an appreciation of the art and science of brewing is at the core of what we do and for all to see, taste and enjoy.
Glasgow has been pioneering the perfect pint for over 400 years and the Shilling Brewing Co. is contributing to the next chapter in this story by creating a space where everyone can discover and appreciate beer, straight from the source.
This includes our core range of beers designed to be enjoyed fresh, just meters from where they are brewed, alongside a host of beers sourced from pioneering craft breweries.

Sampled at the brewpub pours an opaque black with some lacing, sudsy off white head. Nose is heavy with tar and burnt wheat, wow, havenβt had a beer thatβs smelt this ashy and yet not smokey, cracker, buckwheat, molasses too, dark chocolate espresso bean. Flavor is a bit smoother and more approachable, raisin, molasses, but a lot of burnt grasses, some BBQ sauce, coffee bean. Dry finish. Quite unique within the style.

At the brewpub, pours a clear amber with lots of sticky, lacing white head. Nose has yeast, some malt, a little fall fruit, some candy, some orange hop. Flavor straightens it out more, malt, a little caramel, some apple, orange, candy, a little yeast, a little metal. Finishes dry. Nose makes you wonder if they tried for a riff, flavor is straight amber ale.

On cask at the brewery, pours a mostly clear gold with some sudsy, white head. Nose has some nice lemon, apricot, white grape, grass, light tea. Flavor is heavy with tea and white grape, apricots and oranges too. Finishes a touch tannic. All in all, quite nice.
