About
Brewery Vandenbroek is a small family brewery. Craft and trust in nature are our driving forces. The brewery-housing and brewery equipment are fully self-designed and self-built as a lambic brewery. We have two brass woodfired coppers, a traditional cooling tun where -after hours of cooking- the wort will cool the night over and a beer cellar filled with oak barrels.

This creates the base for some very special beers. The brewing process is based on pure manual labor with a minimum of machines. That’s why we call our beers handcrafted. The fermentation and ripening of our beers are all natural, without any artificial cooling, just as in the old times. As a result, the seasons clearly influence the taste. We believe that high quality does not necessarily mean constant quality. Plan to be surprised. Cheers!

Bottle courtesy of kraddel, thank you sir! Hazy deep golden color, small white head. Nice aroma of dusty black pepper.Taste is funky, sour barnyard, doesn’t exactly come together, but tasty enough. Dry, tart finish.

Bottle thnx to Bierkoning ! Pours unclear amber, big white head . Smell is sour, herbal, bit funky . Yasye is sour, fruity a bit . Rather sharp funkyness . Slightly bread / grainy notes .

Bottle shared at BBF 6, thanks to Edo, 27/09/14. Murky orange amber with a moderate light beige covering. Nose is woody, bitter orange, spice, musty. Taste comprises dank wood, lemon rind, apple core, damp hay, musty wash. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with a sweet and sour wash. So so.

Bottle shared at BBF 6, thanks to Edo, 27/09/14. Murky orange amber with a decent beige covering and edgework. Nose is light plastic, spice, earthy, musty wood, bitter orange, dank fruit. Taste comprises soured citric rinds, bitter orange, light acidic notes, musty wood, damp hay. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough Sour red.

Bottle shared at BBF 6, thanks to Edo, 27/09/14. Lightly hazed golden with off white spotting and edgework. Nose is damp wood, citric tarteness, pissy, lemon rind, straw. Taste comprises lemon peel, damp hay, musty wood, light acidics, apple core. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid gueuze.

[9/27/14] Bottle sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2014 in Bodegraven. Thanks bierkoning. Murky amber. Sourish aroma of malt and fruits. Sour flavor, fruity, with a bit of malt. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

[9/27/14] Bottle sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2014 in Bodegraven. Thanks bierkoning. Hazy gold with a big white head. Lovely funky aroma full of barnyard, oak and fresh fruits. Great sour funky flavor, very fruity, with some oak. Great stuff, very refreshing.

75 cl bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small off white head. Aroma is winous fruity. Lingering fruity and slight citric. Smooth fruity and citric. Toasted malty finish.

Hazy brown colour, beige head. Sour aroma, apricot, malts, red wine. Llight sweet flavour, light fruity, quite sour. Light sweet finish, light sour, hint of ethylacetate.

Hazy golden colour, white head. Fruity aroma, citrus, white wine, light apple. Light sour flavour, citrus, very fruity. Light sour lemon finish, citrus fruits. Nice!
