12 oz. can from Molly's Spirits in Lakeside, CO. Pours a clear, very dark ruby color with a beige head and very good retention. Decent lacing. Faint malty aroma. Light nutty flavor and light dark malts. Very subtle. I wish the flavors were more pronounced. Thankfully the 45 IBUs are well hidden. Clean, smooth, and easy drinking. Light body. Medium carbonation. Low bitterness.

Pint can - this is a classic example of adjunct additions ruining a dang good beer - had the “regular” BA Genius Wizard last week and it was great - this one? - it doesn’t even look the same - dark brown - and the body is somehow much thinner than the base beer - adjuncts are heavy-handed and sickly sweet, especially the caramel - the woody and tannic complexity of the barrel is subsumed by the sugary “natural flavors” - coconut tastes artificial and a bit like suntan lotion - watery finish - I mean, they legit ruined this beer and now I feel like running out and getting some more of the untainted iteration of this beer to cleanse my palate.

Dimpled mug at the brewery - hazy dark amber - has a rich nuttiness, moderate chocolate, clove, pepper - finishes a little tangy, with a nice weizen spice - warming for the lower-ish abv - pretty good.

Half Liter daft at Ratio Beerworks (Overland) in Denver, Colorado. The pour is a crystal clear golden amber with a ½ inch white foam head 1/2. The aroma is clean cereal grain, malt sweet, grass and hay. The taste is a great blend of the malt sweet grain and the drying grass. The palate is medium bodied, active carbonation and the crisp finish. Nice Oktoberfest, I drank it all night!

Can. A- Pineapple, citrus. A- Yellow color, clear liquid, white head. T- Pineapple, citrus, dank, grassy, bitter, yeasty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Lots of juicy pineapple, but the bitterness just cuts through too much for me.

Dimpled mug at the Overland location - medium gold pour - lively carbonation - herbal, dry, and fairly bitter - floral notes and a background bright fruitiness - lacks the malt richness you’d want in the style and is far too bitter.

Pint at the Overland location - this is apparently a Czech-style pils now, at 5% abv - pours totally clear - light gold - lively carbonation and a moderate head - clean a crisp malt base - mostly dry, peppery, moderately bitter - light honey sweetness on the tail end before drying out again in the finish - some flowery hop presence - slight minerality in the finish - quite a decent pils.
