Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Clear brown color with a medium thin beige head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lace. Aroma of roast malt and chocolate. Light-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, cocoa and slight coffee. The finish is sweet with a roasty malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap @ Avery Sour Fest 2014. Pours a hazy golden orange appearance with an off white head. The aroma was a bit dull - some citrus, honey, light grapes. Surprisingly enough, the flavor wasn’t all that bad. Light tartness. Reasonable sweetness. A hint of red fruit. Honey and vanilla. A touch vinous. Surprisingly not as bad as I expected.

On tap at GABF 2012. Pours a cloudy orange color with a medium white head. A smooth grainy nose with some light oranges. A light flavor of grain, wheat, lemons, very light and unremarkable. Decent.

Tap at Freshcraft Denver - 03/06/12. Copper amber colour with a medium white head. Floral hops on the nose and a little malt, not a huge aroma. Light malt flavour, some citrus, hops - as per the nose a little on the bland side but not unpleasant. Medium bodied, a little watery, average, drinkable but forgettable !

Tap @ Avery SourFest III. Golden orange appearance with a white head. Pear, rich tart apple, lemon aroma. A bit earthy, rotten apple core, apple skin, shitty dull hoppy flavor. This mofo actually tasted like apples but not in a good way.

Tap @ the Mayor in FoCo. Cloudy, reddish orange appearance with an off white head. Conflicting cherry juice, citrus hoppy nose. Juicy juice cherry, bitter, soapy hoppy flavor. Soapy, bitter aftertaste. Good call on the Mayor scoring a limited beer. Bad call on Asher for the poor brew. Kriek IPA just sounds fucked up.

Tap at brewery. Wheat ale with "Whole Foods" cherry juice and aged in local Cabarnet barrels. Orange and a bit hazy appearance with a small off white head. Cherry juice and some wheat malts in the nose. A little watery cherry juice flavored wheat beer. Crap. Not a sour. More of a crappy flavored Wheat Ale. Very watery. Crap.

Tap at Freshcraft - okay, so this is the third strike from this brewer for me - I wanted to give them a fair shake because they are local and all organic, but their beer is just bad - this one, for example, is abrasive in about as many ways as a beer can be - the hops are poorly balanced and very astringent and the alcohol makes it even more difficult to palate - the malt base tries really hard to cover this up, but just adds some sticky sweetness to the mess - a lot of fusel alcohol flavor and even some odd vegetal notes in the back - a total effing mess - sorry, asher, but I shan’t be trying any more of your beer.
