In 2008, Thomas Carteron, winemaker, had been working for a few years in the vines in Londe les Moors in Var when the idea came up to found a microbrewery. 5 years later, the Brasserie Carteron was born in the artisan area of Saint Claude in Saint Tropez and released its first craft beer: “La Trop”.

Little by little, it acquired its unique personality thanks to a real winemaker’s know-how. Along the way, their microbrewery moved to Hyères in 2016 and brewing started there in 2017. Today Mathilde et Thomas Carteron offer more than fifteen French craft beers, all quality beers under the labels La Trop and La P'tite.

Bottle @ home. Clear yellow golden color, small white to off-white head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is wheat, light apple / apple juice, yeast. Tastes about the same: wheat, some hints of apple juice, kinda sweet, some coriander. Average body and low to carbonation. Meh.

Murky apple juice colour, fizzy white head sizzles away within less than a second, no lacing. Aroma grainy, apple, barnyard. Fizzy taste, light heavy sweet and a light sourish touch. Thin sweet aftertaste, bit like gazeuze lemonade. Light body, watery texture, lively carbonation, something to forget.

Bottled 330ml (from Rouen)
’Dark amber color, small steady white head. Aroma has caramalt, maltyness and a bit harshness. Medium-bodied. Quite sweet almost honeyish caramalt flavor. Grassy notes, raisins, harsh finish. Sweet, even a bit annoying.

Bottle - Weird sweet candy perfume. Clear gold with a decent white head. Sweet candy like notes with a weird creamy finish. Not good.
