About
Brew Age is a young and innovative company taking old brewing traditions and developing them further. The newly created beers and beer styles are then to offer new impressions and flavours to the beer expert and the beer newbie alike.

We went through various scenarios in our heads: our own brewery vs. gypsy brewing, establishing a brand and, most importantly, developing recipes. Finally we settled on the concept of gypsy brewing. Following an intense search for a partner brewery, we finally managed to start our cooperation with Reinhold Barta at Brauhaus Gusswerk. Today, we still brew our beers at Gusswerk, and in a way you can call us sedentary gypsy brewers: in contrast to classic gypsy brewers, who produce their beer (or have it produced) at various breweries, we brew our beers almost exclusively at Gusswerk, strictly according to our own specifications. For the near future, we are planning to build our own brewery in Vienna.

Optisch trüb und gelborange bis ocker mit gelben Reflexen. Die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone gibt sich flaumig und überaus langlebig. Sehr frische Duftaromatik mit fruchtigen Noten von Zitrus, Orange, einem Hauch Exotik und einer leichten Herbe, die in einer grasigen Hopfennote mündet. Im Antrunk angenehm spritzig und fruchtig-herb. Der Mittelteil zeigt sich leicht malzig. Die Fruchtnoten halten sich eher im Hintergrund und eine leicht karamellige Röstaromatik kommt zum Vorschein. Dazu gesellt sich eine gut präsente grasige bis kräuterartige Hopfenherbe. Mundgefühl und Süffigkeit sind okay, hätte ich aber ehrlich gesagt etwas besser erwartet. Im Abgang legt sich sofort die grasig-kräuterartige Hopfenherbe über allen anderen Noten. Leicht röstige Malznoten kann man anfangs zwar noch wahrnehmen, aber so sehr im Hintergrund, dass sie völlig untergehen. Tja... kein schlechtes NEIPA, aber sowohl Optik, als auch Duftaromatik versprechen am Beginn etwas mehr als dieses Bier letztendlich halten kann.

Bottle courtesy of Max, Zwølf Ingolstadt, cheers Max! Had this at home, outside cooking pizzas in the wood oven and listening to Snapped Ankles - Come Play the Trees. Pours dark brown, chestnut brown with a light beige head. Roasty from the off, but there is a great hoppiness and the bitterness is also very decent, 65Ibu according to the description and you certainly get that. Cocoa powder, bitter dark chocolate, fresh hops, I really like this.

Had this from can at Zwølf Ingolstadt Wednesday 5th January 2022. Pours murky yellowy colour with a large creamy textured white head. The nose is overipe fruit, the moutheel is thick, juicy with nods to a Pina Colada, definitely pineapple but also a little dessicated coconut, really nice, super easy drinking for the abv. Great beer.

25-12-21 // 330ml bottle. Thanks Roman. Spannend. Hazy IPA with Brett. Citrus and Brett in the nose. Orange and pineapple fruity. Brett is mild gibing a nice funky twist. Dry and bitter finish.

Can. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is dank, pineapple nectar, some tennis socks, surprisingly smooth and restrained. Taste is pineapple nectar, very expressive, dank, extremely smooth. Thick mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pretty damn great, superbly balanced!

330ml bottle. Cloudy, minimally pink-ish, amber colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Sweet-ish, fruity aroma, minimally artificial, sugary notes of raspberry, raspberry sweets, raspberry sirup, lightly leafy and earthy, minimally fruit acidic raspberry aspects, minimally lactic background. Taste is tart, fruity, minimally artificial, sugary, sherbet-like notes of raspberry, a minimally leafy touch, minimally lactic, tangy basis, a touch of lemon. Watery texture, slightly dry, minimally astringent palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Light, watery, passably refreshing, restricted and minimally artificial fruitiness - harmless.

Aufgrund der nett gestalteten, in Papier eingepackten, Flasche, stand dieses Bier längere Zeit als Deko im Wohnzimmer. Jetzt kam netter Besuch und es bot sich an, dieses Bierchen zu verkosten. Es ist eine saure Gose, die mit Milchsäurebakterien - das muss man halt einmal vertragen. Wenn man sich auf dieses ungewöhnliche Getränk einlässt, hat man aber seinen Spaß damit, den die Aromenharmonie ist wirklich toll und faszinierend. Wer gerne mal geschmackstechnisch experimentiert, ist auf jeden Fall richtig.
