Very dark brown. Couldn’t get a head going. Chocolatey, fudgey aroma with a hint of coffee. Light, soft body. Sweet, but with a light coffee accent. Subtle milk chocolate and a hint of nuts. Slight imperfections, but pretty tasty.

tap - Pours a dark golden color with a thin head that soon fades to nothing. The aroma is very light malt. The mouthfeel is lightly carbonated and rather thin bodied. The hops are barely noticeable in the flavor, which is mostly mild malts, though they are tastey. A little more hops and body would have been nice. This beer is quite drinkable but in my opinion, needs some more flavor.

tap - Pours a copper color with a moderate, long lasting head that leaves some nice lacing. The aroma is of hops, though surprisingly faint, which seems to be common with Mad Anthony beers. Besides the name, I really thought this had the hop character of an IPA, so I’m not sure why it’s classified as an English Pale Ale. But anyway. it has the typical hoppy IPA finish and is a solid, though not great, brew.

Tap at the brewpub - mild malt and coffee aroma, long lasting head with nice lacing. Mildly roasted malts and coffee dominate the flavor. Palate is fairly smooth with moderate carbonation. It’s not on the caliber of MA’s bourbon barrel porter, but still this is very nice porter. They’ve got the style and variations down very well.

Tap at the brewpub - very mild citrus aroma, thin head. The flavor was of wheat sweetness contrasting with the strong citrus notes and some yeast flavors. It was fairly easy to drink. I may have to try it again to give a more detailed review.

Draft - Roasted malt aroma wafts up from this great looking beer. It pours black with a big, lasting head. It has a nice stout flavor though as others have said it’s a bit thin on the palate. The finish is somewhat bitter and not in a bad way.

Draft - Cloudy pink color, very distinct raspberry aroma... it goes down easy and the flavor is dominated by the raspberries. There’s some malt there too and little hops balance to be had. It’s too thin on the palate. The bartender told me that many people ask for it to be mixed half and half with one of the other beers. Given the thin palate and dominate raspberry flavor, I can see why. It’s alright, but you better want something fruity and sweet.

Draft - Very dark brown, medium head with a bit of lacing. Aroma was mild and of roasted malt. Flavor was moderate intensity, primarily of roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Body was okay, lightly carbonated. The finish lingered for a little bit with that roast flavor. It could have used a bit more hops balance, but it’s pretty good.

Tap - Pours a rich brown color, thin, rapidly fading head. Palate was surprisingly low on carbonation and a bit thin. It’s mild, malty, and easy to drink, with a bit of bitterness in the finish, but I wish it had more going for it.

draft - thin to medium head, some lacing, nice brown color. While not remarkable, it tastes pretty good with malts coming to the fore and a pleasant, medium body. Good session brew. It could stand to be a bit more intense.
