Draft - Cloudy pink color, very distinct raspberry aroma... it goes down easy and the flavor is dominated by the raspberries. There’s some malt there too and little hops balance to be had. It’s too thin on the palate. The bartender told me that many people ask for it to be mixed half and half with one of the other beers. Given the thin palate and dominate raspberry flavor, I can see why. It’s alright, but you better want something fruity and sweet.

Draft - Very dark brown, medium head with a bit of lacing. Aroma was mild and of roasted malt. Flavor was moderate intensity, primarily of roasted malt and a hint of coffee. Body was okay, lightly carbonated. The finish lingered for a little bit with that roast flavor. It could have used a bit more hops balance, but it’s pretty good.

Tap - Pours a rich brown color, thin, rapidly fading head. Palate was surprisingly low on carbonation and a bit thin. It’s mild, malty, and easy to drink, with a bit of bitterness in the finish, but I wish it had more going for it.

draft - thin to medium head, some lacing, nice brown color. While not remarkable, it tastes pretty good with malts coming to the fore and a pleasant, medium body. Good session brew. It could stand to be a bit more intense.

draft - I suppose Mad Anthony makes this beer to try to get Bud swigging patrons to buy it instead. It tastes like a typical macrobrew pale lager, which is to say that it tastes mostly like water. Very thin body, inoffensive but unimpressive flavor. I’ll give it an edge over Bud, but that’s about it.

draft - Thin, long lasting head, some lacing. Aroma of roast malt and bourbon. Pours opaque, pretty much black. Tastes lightly carbonated with a nice, full body. The malt and hops are well balanced. Roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate flavors as is typical for the style, but the barrel aging makes a huge difference as the bourbon flavor really comes through. Very smooth, nice and warming, and leaves a pleasant malty finish. The bartender tells me the alcohol content is over 10%. If that’s accurate, wow, it doesn’t taste like it. Well done. The dec. 08 version was every bit as good with smooth, wonderfully balanced bourbon. World class is right.

12 oz bottle - The hops give this ale the characteristic pale ale bite, and to me anyway it’s a nicely balanced bite. You have to like your hops for this one, but it’s not overpowering.

Seemed to me to be a straight-forward IPA with little complexity. Citrus and pine aroma and citrus and pine taste. Medium bitterness. I wouldn’t turn my nose up at this, but not as interesting as many other IPAs.

Bottle. Nice fresh raspberry malt aroma. Ruby red color - cloudy but next to no head. Flavor a disappointment - watery raspberry flavor - little malt flavor and no hops. Pretty blah. Rerate 5/30/07 - better flavor and body - flavor more tart and full.

(draft- Indiana brewers fest) Rather nondescript schwarzbier. Clear brown with barely no aroma, sweetish malt but no hops to compliment. Boring.
