Tap at the brewery. Apples, light spiciness, caramel, biscuits, treacle. Very nice. Good stuff and the best one so far. Nutty.

Tap at the castle. Plimsoll rubbery, some sweetness, lemon and wheatiness. Light creaminess. Alright. Some caramel.
Had again in 2024 and it was great. Very nice. Wheaty, light sweetness. Good stuff!

5% The Muncher Schwarzbier was served in a small bier mug/stein. Nice cola brown almost black with a light beige head with good foam retention & great lacing. Nice mild roast coffee aroma. Medium body, nice smokey, roasty notes with hints of bacon. After the disappointing alt this is great.

It seems to have improved since KyotoLefty had it but still isn’t up to snuff. 5% A slightly opaque amber brown with a good 2cm of foam. The aroma is malty sweet with toffee & caramel like notes. The taste is kind of rough & bitter with none of that malty sweetness from the nose coming through. A bit disappointing. With food it improved revealing some roasted malt notes that were a good contrast to my lunch of potatoes & fish in a sour sauce. 2.5-3/5 nose 7, taste 5.

Draught at the brewpub. Pretty amber color with a fine, lovely, sturdy head. Nice part ends there. Strange aroma, some caramel and hop, fruit, earth, plus some weird yeasty thing. Similar to the helles I had: a metallic, Sprite flavor. Very bitter finish, almost astringent. Too fruity, citrusy, and gassy. Unpleasant.

Draught at the brewpub. Vienna lager color, with a tall, fine head. Interesting. Faint aroma of caramel and fruits, esp. cherry; slightly dry. Cherry and caramel Vienna malt flavor. Light wheat flavor, no weizen yeast here. No banana or clove whatsoever. Very clean and light; body also light. No hops noticeable. Very fruity and clean, balanced, but disappointingly light in flavor. Too sweet and not enough character, but drinkable and inoffensive.

draught at the brewpub. Pale Yellow color with a fine, thick head. Light, slightly fruity aroma, ok hops, light malts. Strange flavor: candy? Metal? Not working at all at first. Almost like Sprite! Too thin, with strange off-flavors. Hops ok. Also weird mouth feel. Vanishes in the back! Better with food, and as it opened up, but terrible first impression.

Very dark brown color. Big chocolately, molasses in the nose. My god, it has character!!! A bit too sweet, full body, chocolate, molasses and caramel in mouth, but it all feels a bit artificial. Lingering chocolatey, molasses in the finish.

White head, very very faint bananas in the nose, but also nothing estery going on here at all. May be they forget the yeast? Way too carbonated, no flavor. Not offensive, but drinking water is cheaper.
