Tap @ Kamikatz Taproom, Tokyo. Pours golden, relatively clear with some white foam on top. Nose is sweet and tropical, pineapple and some ripe mango. Tastes clean, hoppy, fruity, hops actually just a bit overdone. Slightly out of balance but still pretty good dry finish, herbal dry-bitter linger. Good.

Tap @ Kamikatz Taproom, Tokyo. Pours hazy orange, some foam there but rather limited. Nose is very soapy, just soap actually. Probably I am not tasting this beer at its best - but that's how they choose to serve it. Taste has soapy bitterness, creamy, soft like a blanket Body feels malty, herbal bitterness not that balanced but messy. Finish dry with lingering herbal bitterness. Would be almost OK if the nose weren't that soapy.

Tap @ Kamikatz Taproom, Tokyo. Pours dark brown, a bit of beige head that reduces to a thin film quite quickly. Nose soapy, some roast malt character still there but relatively muted. Berries. Taste has more berries, milky roast, some bitterness. Not too bad but well, van't really understand that medal they so proudly present here in the taproom, does not feel like that level.

Tap. Pours hazy whitish-yellow. Some foam on top. Wheaty aroma, slightly tart, yeast and cloves, spicy. Decent. Taste has more coriander bitterness there as well, quite dry finish. Herbal bitterness lingers. Not very exciting but clean and clicks most requirements for this style for me.

Bottle at Hanshin. Minerally nose, peach, orange, chewy malt. Deep orange, hazy, with a low, thick head. Fruit and dry, a bit off with minerally funk, grapefruit, peach. Full and smooth, slightly prickly. Decent but not quite there.

Tap at Hanshin. Big fruity nose, orange, tropical fruits, wheat. Cloudy, orange golden, bubbly head. Sweet and juicy, papaya, orange, apricot. Smooth and juicy, looks like they are trying for the hazy stuff, but more of a pale ale and a bit too sweet but not bad. Bitter finish.

Kamikatz Yamainudake 5%

This IPA is made in Shikoku but somehow wound up as part of the Portland Fair at Hanshin Department Store. A cloudy gold with a fruity citrus aroma. The taste is spicy, wheat like, with tangy citrus. My guess is that it’s a White IPA based on the look (very cloudy), texture (smooth and full) and taste (spice notes). Really good though. There was also an IPA I didn’t know I hadn’t had at Hanshin...

Bottle from Kbl. Rich malt, nuts, choclate, coffee. Nice. Shiny black with lace. Rich sweet malt. Lots of chocolate, some coffee. A bit thin. Quite tasty though not perfect. Good stuff.

Kamikatz She Loves You Chocolate Porter 6.5% Served in a Teku Glass it is a deep brown verging on black with a thick tan head and luscious roasted chocolate aroma. Medium bodied but with a dry finish it has a satisfyingly smooth mouthfeel. The taste is roasty, chocolate & cacao. Seems very natural and tasty. Best I've had from these guys and the first bottles of theirs I've had. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rise and Win Chestnut Ale 5%

Apparently limited to the Kobe Craft Beer Summit event, it is a chestnut brown color with a thick beige head. A bready nutty and sweet spice aroma evokes a freshly baked nut bun.

Light bodied the taste is surprisingly fruity giving me stone fruit and sweetness while the somewhat dry finish gives a nutty character. Pretty good and a fun fall beer.
