Tap at Komachi. Pours a pale pastel yellow, very hazy. Nose is citrus and some fusel alcohol notes. Boozy from the start. Flavor is lots of lemon and tropical fruits from the hops, plus a strong boozy flavor. These are hard beers to do well, and while this is ok, it's far too boozy and hard to drink.

From the can at the Juso taproom. Clear, bright gold. Bright citrus nose, clean malt aroma. Fresh and crisp flavor, nice hops, lots of citrus, some spice and tropical, spicy finish. Crisp and clean.

Tap at the Juso taproom. Dark brown, lace. A bit cloudy. Malty, slightly smoky nose, chocolate and caramel and spices. Not sure what has been added to this. Flavor is somewhat sweet, again lightly smoky, and spicy in a somewhat astringent way. Lacks the big malt richness I expect in the style. A bit of a strange one.

Tap in Juso. Slightly hazy bright pastel gold. Nose is citrus sour, lactic acid, with lime, coconut, pineapple, and vanilla. Flavor is crisp and sour, fruity, flavored. Vanilla and coconut are nice in the background, lime and pineapple work well with the lactic acid fermentation. Vert bright and crisp, very summery. Nice stuff.

Can in Juso. Bright golden color, clear. Bright citrus hops, light clean malt. Flavor is very rounded, soft malts, light fruitiness, citrus, slightly lame lack of intensity. Bitter finish with some weird offness. I hate this style. The hops here are good, but it doesn't really work. body is thin.

Can and tap in Juso. Amber color, clear. Spicy British hops in the nose, caramel, toast, some esters. Malty, toasty flavor, light, slightly nutty, light caramel, nice spicy hops. Moderate bitterness. Decent stuff.

Can at the Juso bar. Bright gold with a nice head. Nose is rich malt, light diacetyl, lemon, biscuits. Flavor is rich malt, butter, spicy hops, and something metallic. Bitter finish. Not bad, but not close to their helles, and I think it needs tuning. A bit of diacetyl is fine for the style, but it's metallic and there are some other off notes. Ok, but please re-do.

Tap at Juso. Orange color, glowing, medium head. Big nose, resiny hops, citrus, honey malts, biscuits. Flavor is sweet honey and biscuits with lots of grapefruit and orange and some piny resins. Old school West Coaster. Sweet and also hugely hoppy without the caramel. Delicious.

Tap at their bar in Juso. Bright reddish brown, clear, with lace. Very malty nose with lots of raisin, treacle, caramel, plum. Big malty flavor with lots of raisin and dried fruits, treacle, caramel, resiny hops. Bright and clean body with a nicely bitter finish. I would say British style but with an American bitter finish. Excellent stuff.

Tap at Komachi. Pale pastel gold with a medium head. Clean nose, grapefruit, lemon, light tropical fruits. Crisp fruity flavor, not thick or biscuity, not very sweet. Like a NE gone West Coast type of thing. Easy drinking and clean.
