Nomcraft Nightmare Rally Imperial Mocha Stout 9% 55 IBU Dark Brown verging on black in color with thick creamy beige foam that looked like a nitro pour. Velvety smooth texture to the foam with a bit of raspy carbonation on a full body. Sweet milk coffee flavor, roasty milk coffee stout. Really very good.

Draft @ Ale Gion Beer, Kyoto. Hazy pale yellow with just a tiny white head (as intended by the barkeeper). Aroma of grapefruits and passion fruits. Taste of grapefruits and passion fruits as well plus some malts and perhaps oats. Low bitterness. Strong carbonation. One-dimensional but pleasing nonetheless.

Tap at Komachi. Big haze, pastel yellow with orange and pink tints, lace. Nose is orange juice, papaya, light pine, light weed, grapefruit. Creamy, fruity flavor, citrus, tropical fruits, a bit dank, coconuts, pineapple. Smooth and not slick or oily or pasty. Well done haze.

350mL can, pours a mostly clear bright dark-ish orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of bitter orange rind, along with resinous hops and big bready malt notes. Flavour is citrusy, with a big bitter grapefruit peel character, orange zest, bitter resinous hops, and a thick bready malt backbone. A bit simplistic and lacking cohesion, with a big too much malt out front, but reasonably constructed and some decent flavours there. Pleasant.

On tap at Craft Beer Bar iBrew - Ginza, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out a nice spicy and piney hop character upfront, with almost a dusty nuttiness to it. Flavour is bright, with spicy and piney hops upfront, toasted nuttiness, and crisp biscuity malt. Nutty and piney finish with adequate bitterness. A bit unusual a hop expression but it totally works. Really good.

On tap at Craft Beer Bar iBrew Ebisu, pours a somewhat hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma is full of creamy piney hops, with a very soft malt base. Flavour is wonderfully hopped, with loads of piney hops, a hint of stone fruit and resin, but it's the pine that shines. Gorgeously constructed. Man, this is up there with some great American WCIIPAs.

Nomcraft Italian Pils Lovely clear light gold with bright white foam and a herbal sweet limoncello hop bouquet. Medium to light bodied, crisp and quaffable. The taste is big herbal bittersweet limoncello. Good stuff snd it hits the spot after work. Sitting having a beer on Shijo and I hear Spanish, French and English more than Japanese. Yep, tourists are definitely back.
