On tap at Aslan, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out an earthy, spicy character from the barrels upfront, with a touch of perfume underneath. Flavour is similar, with earthy spicy rye barrels dominating, followed by perfumey notes further back. The rye is certainly aggressive, making this a bit brutal. The red wine version is much better, though this is a nice experiment.

On tap at Aslan, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma is very complex, with lots of brett upfront, immediately followed by vinous notes from the red wine. Flavour is complex and deep, with a wonderful marriage of brett and red wine barrels. The tannins combine really well with the brett character, giving way to a woody and bretty finish. Excellent stuff.

On tap at Aslan, pours a fairly clear amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of toasted malt, spiciness and even a bit of hoppy bitterness in back. Flavour is fairly robust, wit lots of toffee and spiciness upfront, with a nice hoppy bitterness in back, ending on caramel notes. Nicely constructed, lots of depth. Very good.

On tap at Aslan, pours a hazy peachy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out toasted cereal malt and crisp crackery notes, not much notice of the blackberries. Flavour is fruitier, with subdued juicy blackberries and toasted cereal malt. Nicely constructed but not overly interesting. Okay.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out fruity esters and Belgian yeast upfront, with some residual sugars. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of fruity esters from the Belgian yeast and residual sweetness. A typical North American saison that has too many fruity esters and too much sweetness. Not convincing.

On tap at Elizabeth Station with Ash. Pours a clear pale golden with a weak white head. Aroms is grainy, malty, slightly fruity and, of course, sour. Taste is pretty the same. Quite drinkable, but nothing more. Meh.

Draft pout pint at Frankie’s Pizza. 7 days left of this place. Pours a dark cola brown with an active fizz head. Nutty malt aroma. Very typical brown here. Good overall, but doesn’t really stand out. Not whole lot else to really say. Pretty good.

Draft pour pint at Special Brews. A cloudy golden yellow pour with a snow dusting head. Very cool herbal, floral aroma. Flavor has a mint to it, herbal, bready hidden background. Odd floral flavor overall. Ginger too. Not really a type of beer I enjoy a bunch, but it seems well put together. Very fun try. Not bad.
