Tap at Komachi. This was a weird one. Slightly hazy bronze. Tart, lemony and spicy nose unlike any IPA except a Belgian one. Flavor is sweet citrus and lots of spice with a rough, bitter finish. More like a somewhat off saison or triple than an IPA. Something wrong with the fermentation here. Drinkable, but not good.

V8 juice with salt and light body. Weird. Litterally this is a salty V8 juice with a thinner body. Why?

Tap @ Watering Hole. Deep orange pour, not transparent. Almost no foam. Veggie aroma, with grains and some tartness. Tastes as a rough veggie juice but not only juice but also some veggies themselves in there. Pickles. Actually interacts well with pickles beets, veggie character cancels itself out and its just juicy and tart. Heavy on the body. Interesting and experimental although overall still pretty weird.

sour hoppy funky yeasty nose, plaster, Apples and oranges in the nose. Sour, almost like a cider in its sourness, very funky but not dry enough. A bit odd but I don’t mind.

Tap @ TBE Brewing, Ebisu, Tokyo. Pours hazy orange not very foamy - but something there and leaves some lacings. Nose is soft, tropical and lots of ripened mangoes and papayas there. Taste is fruity, sweetish with a nice bitter bite balancing things a bit. Body and also finish feels a bit messy though, does not carry the initial sensation very far. Solid attempt for a new brewery, will check them out again.

Tap at Japan Brewer's Cup 2018. Still had a bit of a cold, so my palate may not have been quite right. Piny nose, caramel, resiny, oranges. Rich and malty flavor, old school, yes, but not overly sweet and good balance with resiny hops. Best of the 5 I had from them here.
