Bottle from Furusato Nozei. This is the Yu-agari Bijin label. Cocoa powder nose, lightly roasty, slightly creamy. Shiny dark brown to black with a fine, frothy head. Dry, roasty flavor, dark chocolate and coffee, a bit of burnt wood. I agree this is probably an ale and not a lager, although could be a schwarzbier. Body is rather light, crisp. Finish is mostly roasty and dry. Not bad at all, though somewhat forgettable.

Tap at NAkanosjima. Malty, biscuity nose. Sweet malt falvor, oily. Ok pils character, particularly the malt, but a bit heavy, sweet, and unrefined. Not bad though.
