Aged 2 years, sampled 2017. Thick head, hazy, orangey colour. Big brett on the nose, with lots of fresh biscuity malts. On the palate, the same malt character is prominent, along with alcohol, and light brett. I am surprised that the brett character didn’t develop more after two years at ambient temps. That said, this is still a very well-balanced beer and one of the better brews Dageraad has made outside of their flagships. Fresh, in 2017. Amber, slight haze, thick head. Brett comes through on the nose, along with hints of esters. Nice amber malts with pear esters, gentle touch of brett. This is nice. 7-4-7-4-15 = 3.7

850ml bottle from the brewery at Ilya’s. Pours a hazy golden with huge white head. Aroma is Belgian yeasts, spices and maybe some pears. Taste is Belgian yeasts, noticeable barrel notes, spices. Very nice stuff.

On tap at Alibi during 800BC event. 2016 version, keg conditioned. Pours a murky opaque blonde with a white head. Aroma is spices, Belgian yeasts, flowery, slightly sweet. Taste very fresh, sweet, flowery, some hoppy bitterness. Very nice stuff in Belgium style.

Hazy. More tan than white. Has an estery, slightly yeasty nose, and there is some sweet malt. But also phenols in the direction of smoked electrical wire. Ok but those yeast issues...really uncharacteristic of Dageraad.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out a good punch of coriander, light citrus and wheat. Flavour is soft and rather complex for the style, with a good dose of coriander, light citrus and soft pillowy wheat. Whispy palate, with light-medium carbonation. Nicely done.

Pretty solid for a Canadian made Belgian beer. But not quite on par with a good authentic Belgian. I think the bitterness is a little bit off for my palate. Bottle in office.

Served in a pint glass, which isn’t good for a Dageraad beer. Dark amber, no head, amd generally would look about a million times better in one of those awesome Dageraad goblets. Fruity esters up front. Has a soft body, the low alcohol being quite apparent.Gentle fruitiness balanced by a touch of malt sweetness. For something in the vein of De Koninck it’s pretty good.
