On tap at The Alibi Room for their 300th Beer Menu, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma of soured malts (?), charred malts and slightly bitter hops - doesn't taste like a CDA. Flavour tastes like a CDA more so, with dry roasted malts, light citrus hops, finishing dry and roasty. Palate is medium-heavy, with a medium astringency and roastiness. Solid.

Draught at St. Augustine, Vancouver
Hazy blond color. Sweetish malt aroma, with hints of rotten fruits. Some malt flavor, with a correct body structure, and light residual sweetness; unfortunately there is a character of stale (pond) water, and the bitterness is too strong in the end.
Confused beer, miles away from a craft Pilsner, but better than any macro Lager.

Clear golden color, good cloudy white head, lace. Hayish woody hoppy aroma. Light to medium bodied. Grassy, a bit citrusy, but slightly dusty hoppyness. Sweetish maltyness and light buttery notes.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours dark reddish brown. Aroma of dark caramel, burnt toffee and licorice. Flavour of burnt caramel, dried fruits and a slight sweetness. Perfect balance, with a fruity finish. Very impressive brew.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Very dark brown color, almost black; creamy head. Mild aroma of roasted malt and dirty water. Good body, malt flavor, with chocolate and with a roasted malt component that is stronger than the average German Doppelbock, but pleasant; the roasted malt character is rising in the end, bringing some additional bitterness. A bit too roasty for me, but well constructed.

Hazy amber color; creamy head. The aroma is light, a bit dusty. The dusty character is even more evident in the flavor; dry caramel too, light cereals; quite strong bitterness. Fairly boring overall.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy yellow with a thin head. Sweet aroma of dough and a good balance of hops/malts. Flavour is sweet dough, with a smooth palate. Quite solid.
