Tap at the brewpub. Bit harsh, hoppy, lemon, astringent. Feels boozy. Not my favourite. Quite a lot of wheatiness too. Light tropical fruit but a bit overpowering. Aroma is nice and lemony but not sure about the taste.

Tap at the brewpub. Muddy-ass brown with a tall, foamy head. Nose is caramel, chocolate, citrus, some minerals. Flavor is basically burnt caramel with smoke and ass. Disgusting and should not be served, raspy, burnt, harsh.

Tap at the brewpub. Very cloudy dark brown with funky lace. Ok brown ale nose: chocolate malt. Flavor is very amateurish, with chocolate, raspy malt extract. Rather flat. Body. Not there yet.

Takadanobaba Coffee Beer 6% 500¥ a glass. Freshly ground coffee aroma on a murky opaque brown body. Medium bodied with a raspy carbonation. Kind of gassy. It delivers the coffee fine but also a touch of an acrid sweet tang. Not bad but quite homebrew like.

Pale Ale 5.6% A completely opaque gold with a thick soapy off-white head. The nose on this is fucked, buttery diacetyl overlain with a token hoppiness. Yuck, orange butterscotch anyone? Medium bodied with a fairly viscous mouthfeel. The taste is orange creamsicle, too sickly sweet. Not at all pale ale like except for the bitterness in the finish. Just no.
