Description
Two Kilts Brewing Co. was founded in 2009 by owners and brewers Chris Dillon, and Alex McGaw. Fueled by a passion for all things craft beer they opened a modest 6 barrel brewery and in 2 short years have expanded to their current 15 barrel brewery. They specialize in hand crafting fine American Ales and Lagers, brewed with hints of European influence.

Two Kilts Crystal Sunshine IPL 4.8% 55 IBU Cloudy straw-gold in color with a zesty tropical fruit hop bouquet. Lots of bright citrus notes in the bouquet and in the flavor on a light and pretty dry body. Quite a solid beer, I got mine on sale on Rakut n but I saw it at CBB on Friday afternoon if you want to try for yourself. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Tugboat. Dark amber with a white head. A bit sweet with caramel, malt and something that reminded of smoke. Drinkable but nothing special.

Taster at BCS. Deep brown with light ruby hues around the edges. Sour grape nose with some light cacao. Light, watery mouthfeel with bitterness and sourness on the palate. Weird beer. Finishes sour, like spoiled grape juice. Not really good. A mistake maybe? --- Beer merged from original tick of Cocoa Porter on 03 Jan 2016 at 17:29 - Score: 4

Tap at BCS. Orange-gold with no head. Sweet malt aromas without much hop character noticeable at all. Slightly boozy on the palate and super sweet. One of the sweetest Double/Imperial IPAs I’ve ever had. Not really any hops at all to balance out the sweetness. Finish is boozy an sweet. Needs some hops.

On tap at the brewery. I wasn’t so sure what to think of this. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A big funky sour grain nose. The flavor is tart, high carb, light oaky vanilla tannins, lots of sour funky notes. Very smooth and refreshing. Good. Now, make 100 variants with different fruit in it!

On tap at the brewery. Pours a almost pure black color with a medium white head. A big sweet dark chocolate and roast nose. The flavor leans pretty heavily toward the sweeter maltier elements, toffee, chocolates, some roast and ash. Very smooth and creamy. Good.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium tan head. The aroma is mostly a light roast, cocoa and some berries. Light roast, milky chocolate, some heavier metallic like elements. Very smooth and solid.
