In tha Door Shiranoin Belgian White 4.5% Matte gold with decent white foam. Musty cork, wheat aroma but with no spice I’d expect from a witbier. Medium bodied but over carved making me feel gassy. I get cardboard and banana from this. Not too sure what they were going for.

Tap at the brewpub. The best of the lot. Aroma is roasty, coffee, chocolate. Taste is really nice, creamy, roasty, chocolate, some vanilla. Very surprising. Taste takes a while to hit then lingers. Nice!

Tap at the brewpub. Weird one. Lots of caramel initially but then becomes more fruity, cherry. But alright. Judging by previous ratings, I think it must have improved, but maybe not so much.

Tap at the brewpub. Banana, light spice, wheaty aroma. Taste is similar but a bit less forthright. Creamy and easy going but maybe lacking excitement for me.

Tap at the brewpub. Shandy like. Lots of lemon hoppiness. Little bit of caramel maltiness in the background. Feels a bit thin and not so much there after the initial lemon surprise wears off.

Tap at the brewpub. Copper-orange, hazy, with lace. Fruity nose, orange and ripe apicots, candy, bit of caramel. Tangy flavor, over ripe stone fruit, a bit of citrus, light body. A bit too thin and not quite right.

Soft wheat nose, bit of biscuit, banana, clove. Pretty deep gold, hazy to cloudy, tall fine head. Sweet, fruity flavor, thin, muscat grapes, phenols, apples. Thin body. A bit weak, but drinkable and shows potential.

On tap at the brewpub/nanobrewery. They started brewing in the August and had their Ninomiya Funk Ale on when I went, unfortunately their Shiroinon White Ale was sold out. The Ninomiya poured a pretty lightly opaque orange-gold with a butterscotch hoppy nose. The taste is diacetyl & lemon on a med-light body. One of their first batches but they need to take care of that diacetyl & up the hops to deliver a solid pale ale. An early effort and I wish them well but I think he needs a better mentor than Kibidote...
