4-pack of cans from a Quebec convenient store. Pours a light golden colour with a frothy white cap, good retention and creamy lace. Not completely filtered with tiny transparent particles floating around. Metallic notes in the nose. Grainy malt taste with decent pilsner-like hops. Some sweetness with the cereal, but not syrupy. The taste seems better in a glass, but the smell can stay in the can. A refreshing, inexpensive pils.

330ml bottle into shaker. Grainy nose. Pale amber beer with solid sticky white head. Light carbonation. Grains dominate the taste and finish but some bitter hops shine through at the end. Robust and refreshing.

Pours pale gold from the bottle with a decent if somewhat foamy head. Calls itself the King of Beers which, in my book, is usually not an auspicious sign. Aroma is lightly sweet and malty, with some old sock, and little discernable hops presence. The hops are more discernable in the taste, which is pleasant enough, and set against a lightly sweet malty background and mild carbonation. The palate is a bit watery, which distracts from the already rather mild flavors. Decent. Boring. Not a king.

Bottle shared on the train from Nuremberg to Freising during day 3 of the Bamberg Jolly of January 2015. Pours perfectly clear pale yellow with a frothy, white head. Nice and drinkable, with sugary pale cereal, biscuits, mellow bitter straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, simple, with lightly toasted cereal, hay. Nice one.

330 ml bottle into lager glass, best before 7/28/2015. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a small dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings down the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of pale malt and earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, biscuit, pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Awesome robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Large amount of dryness after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky/grainy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is an awesome German pilsner style. All around great robustness and balance of pale malt and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.
