Tap at Großer Kiepenkerl. Clear, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with small to average, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, snow white head. Doughy yeasty, minimally grainy, malty aroma, bitter hoppy overtones. Taste is doughy yeasty, pale malty, rather crisp, bitter hoppy, hints of brioche, subtle sweetness. OK.

Tap at Großer Kiepenkerl. Clear, reddish brown colour with small, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally husky, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge. Taste is minimally sweet, husky, dark malty, hints of malt lozenge, a malty spicy and a minimally nutty touch as well.

Tap at Grosser Kiepenkerl. Hazy, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Yeasty fruity, wheaty and slightly yeasty spicy aroma, notes of pear, apple, banana, leafy overtones, hints of clove. Taste is slightly dry, leafy, yeasty fruity, wheaty, and slightly yeasty spicy, notes of pear and banana, a lemon dash. OK.

330ml bottle, many thanks to Erzengel! Pours clear gold, large receding white head. Aroma is sweet malt, noble hops. Taste is very slick and smooth, largely sweet pilsner character with low bitterness. Six months past its best before but no real off-flavours. I guess I was expecting some herb or other, but really it’s a harmless, if very sweet, pilsner.

From trade with Erzengel, many thanks! 33cl bottle. Pours clear golden colour with a small white head. Aroma of earthy hops, toasted malt, grain. Taste is mild hoppy, grain, toasted malt, some caramel.

Many thanks for this bottle to Erzengel. Pours a golden color with a thin head. Aroma of thin hop. The flavour is where it’s at, sweet-hop.

Bitter malziger Antrunk, geringfügig röstige Noten. Dabei steht die Bitterkeit deutlich vor dem Malz, schwierig für ein Dunkles. Im Verlauf sinkt die Bitterkeit, das Verhältnis zum Malzaroma bleibt aber. Eher langweilig. 12/7/8/7//7

Klarer herber Beginn mit noch im Antrunk auftretender Metallnote. Der darunter liegende Hopfen gefällt, könnte aber intensiver sein. Mittelstarke Würzigkeit. Insgesamt gelungen. 13/8/8/8//8

Hefig herber, deutlich bananiger Antrunk. Die Bananigkeit steigert sich, die ebenfalls entstehende Süße wird durch die Herbe gut ausglichen. Spritzig, erfrischend. Mild hefiger, etwas bitterer Nachgeschmack. 12/12/11/11//11
